7 Days no Devils lettuce. Bless up boyos

Doing it for personal reasons/health, I just think I have an unhealthy relationship with it. 31 now, been toking since about 18, daily maybe since my early to mid 20's. Just kind of want to reset my habit, I use it as a daily medicine... and I want it to be more of a fun unwind tool once/twice a week. I have no real quitting goal, but I think I'll do at least 60-90 days. Maybe the whole year. Lets see. Also hoping the "easiness" of smoking and doing nothing leads to alot more productivity in my professional + exercising goals.

Over the last 7 days:

- My sleep seems worse. I toss/turn a lot more. And I am dreaming again.
- My body's temperature regulation seems off? Clammy hands throughout day, hot when sleeping.
- My constant dry mouth/sinus irritation seems to be going away, and I actually feel like my saliva production is on overdrive.
- Obviously in the mental aspect I cannot stop thinking about the fact I have quit. No real urge to smoke, but it just shows how much a part of my life it had become.
- Maybe slightly more anxious randomly throughout the day? Not that I ever thought I had anxiety before, maybe that explains the random clammy hands?

Feel free to ask away. We all gonna make it bby.

I'm the type of person to get addicted to a ritual of relaxing more than anything so I sympathize with how hard it would be to quit weed. That's why I can't use it. I got addicted to diet soda for a decade, can't take a chance with anything else.

I've been smoking everyday for quite some time but it is all about control. I just take a bit before bed and it helps me sleep a lot better and feel refreshed in the monring

Ideally I would not mind it being this way. But I also have a moderation/self control problem. Which is why I feel I need this "reset" so I can hopefully build back a better relationship with it. Similar to you.

I need to do the same thing when dieting/training. I'm very all or nothing which is not a good trait.

I'll be having an extended break soon, i smoke daily (not a huge amt, like 0.5-1g in the evening)... but it's clear i'm using it to cope with some chit that happened last year.

Every time i've had a break before, it's been hard for like 2-3 days then it's fine, and i forget i ever smoked and the anxiety clears. How have you found it OP?

I was a daily smoker for many years. I stopped regular smoking when I was 26ish. Its much better used sparsely. When I fancy a smoke now I just grab a quarter of some real nice top shelf and get bombed all weekend. Its much more enjoyable.

Yea same my habit wasn't huge. I definitely never even made it to 1g/day. It was more the ritual/routine I couldn't break. But I do think the cartridges were what was giving me the irritated sinuses, in the past year that became my go-to method. And I didn't find it too hard last week, had an out of town buddy stay over so my week was pretty busy between hanging out/work. So luckily what I expected to be "the worst" week flew by.

But definitely things still changing as I mentioned in OP. Sleep is different, cant say its "worse?" as I wake up feeling rested. But I am tossing/turning much more, and find myself extremely hot/sweating in bed which hasn't happened in the past really.

Can relate 100%, I was on like a 3 month streak but whenever I go home for holidays and see family/old friends, itโ€™s inevitable.

1 week clean though now. Helps so much with brain fog, and when you donโ€™t have weed and video games to fall back on, you find ways to be productive after work, like studying something, goin on dates, running those dumbass errands.

Weed seriously slows advancing in life, keep it up big dogg

only hit my pen when my day is over (night time) and I know I will be in bed soon, usually play some games for an hour or two and once it kicks in I'll lay down and sleep so good

It's so annoying to go to bed when i'm on a break and not smoking. So much better when I am smoking. Brb as soon as your head hits the pillow you're out. Also I really enjoy it after work.

Also the dream aspect sucks when you take a break. They're TOO vivid.

So if it helps you with boredom and anxiety, wouldn't it be a positive to smoke during the week too? I feel like it's easy to dwell on the negatives, and not all the positives it brings. I mean idc what you do, just a thought.

Yeah thats true, i think the positives outweigh the negatives. But i think as I get older, my priorities start to shift and I have to focus on other things other than smoking weed and being unproductive every day

I smoke insanely small bowls once a day. It gives a boost to my imagination and I feel the positive effects of it. When I smoke a regular large size bowl I always get lethargic and can't perform at work like I want to.

treat it like alcohol but forget about the negative health aspects associated with alcohol

if you drink half a bottle of hard liquor everynight like alcoholics, alcohol won't do chit and become a necessity to feel good

if you drink 2 glasses of wine everynight or a small glass of liquor, that is maintainable and not effecting your life negatively at all

if you go out and drink to get a buzz with your SO or friends once every week thats not too bad(once again ignoring the physical health aspect)

if you go out every weekend 3 days and just stay wasted most of the time, thats not good

Well that's called Withdrawals. I'm experiencing that now. And exactly the reason I want to "reset" my habit. Using it like Ibuprofen to cure problems caused by not taking my "Ibuprofen" just seems like a classic sign that a specific substance has become a problem. Unless of course you have some underlying condition, but there's not too many of those weed is 100% a fix for.

As someone who has said for years "Im going to cut back to only weekends and nights", going cold turkey and "resetting" might be the only option for you too. I know "slowing down" hasnt worked in 13+ years.

Never heard a person I take seriously (even potheads) say that.

Now "weedies" who clearly have no passion in life and feel "fine" where they are in life of course will defend it to the grave. But you could say the same about the diet coke addicts, and the adrenaline junkies who race their motorcycle down the highways "Safely".

Copers gonna cope

Clammy hands + Feet all but gone.

Temp regulation while trying to sleep at night finally seems good/normal.

Extremely Vivid dreams also seem to be turning into just standard sometimes i remember/sometimes I don't dreams.

Once again I been using since about 18, daily since maybe mid 20's. 31 now. So I'm actually glad how quickly acute symptoms cleared up.

Also a heavy smoker here, and both of these are the biggest effects I have as well if I cut it out cold turkey.

The sleeping problems are the biggest issue for me, but they do clear up after a bit of time off the green.

Yeah, definitely a lie. Both mentally and physically addictive, granted the physical withdrawal symptoms are very mild compared to everything else.

Yeah as I said its more my relationship with it that's the problem, more so than the substance itself IMO. So in maybe 3 months, maybe 6 months, maybe a year? I definitely don't think I'll never toke again. I just want to break/erase this old habit and start it back with me in full control. And use it as a fun/unwind tool. Maybe at maximum id like to use it daily as a reward at night/days that I'm completely free and gotten all my **** done. Unfortunately the way it was now I would just do it at every moment I had an opportunity inclusing with my morning coffee. Which is no fun. Kinda sad to say it out loud. Even tho I know many people don't consider using weed like that an issue. I still worked out enough, never ****ed up my job or any relationships cuz of it etc... etc... But I just wana do better. And sucks to be lumped into the crowd of people who dont wana better themselves.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm turning 33 in February and I was smoking pretty much daily since I was 18. Since I quit on November 28th I now stopped having vivid dreams, body temp management has normalized and I feel my anxiety levels shrinking. I also notice that my dopamine receptors are resetting so I can 'feel' a lot more. It's like I'm slowly waking back up after a long slumber. The biggest thing for me was the memory retention that I lost while being a smoker.

Even tho I know many people don't consider using weed like that an issue. I still worked out enough, never ****ed up my job or any relationships cuz of it etc... etc... But I just wana do better. And sucks to be lumped into the crowd of people who dont wana better themselves.
I know exactly what you mean. I understand that I'm also dependent on it (unhealthy relationship) and it's a negative trait of mine.

And yeah, part of the problem is it becomes easy to justify - "Well, I got all my chit done for the day, I'm still able to do chores and work while I'm high, so not a big deal right?"
