Mass effect 1 sucks….

Not sure I can finish it….. graphics always using stupid menus to equip some lame gear, retarded ai. Maybe I’ll put it on ez difficulty and go through just the main missions as fast as possible

The story is worth it, but the gameplay hasn't aged super well.

The rover controls pissed me off the hardest. But yeah op I feel you on the controls. My suggestion is to play it for the story which is great and use that as the stepping stone to play parts 2 and 3. They fixed the issues with controls in those sequels and they are fantastic games.

It's a story based rpg, call of duty 37 might be more your thing.

Yeah the inventory system and the combat are pretty janky and the Mako is just fuking annoying overall. If you really are that bothered by it then just turn down the difficulty and cruise through the story.

This lol. There's a good reason why it's always been nerds on the internet that praise RPG's, they aren't for people who just want a cinematic 3'rd person action experience. Maybe the OP should stick to Sony games.

Every single post you make is some Sony hate post even though the thread has nothing to do with a console war. I love Sony games and Mass Effect. Op is extremely correct with his criticism though. Mass Effect 1 is older and its controls and inventory system are a mess. Quite confusing for someone beginning the game as well. The story and RPG elements were awesome. ME 2 and 3 fixed the issues holding back ME1 and were a joy to play.

Yeah the ME1 inventory management is notoriously terrible. No wonder they got rid of it, along with the elevator loading screens and the Mako.

Well ME2 and 3 progressively made the games more of a cover shooter with RPG elements.

Hope I’m getting closer to the end. Still sucks, and I love old rpgs ff7 etc.. it’s really hard to tell where to go, each level has 10 different elevators, quest says go to this elevator. I turned it to casual and just blasting through everyone with a shotgun. Looking forward to seeing the change to mass effect 2 cuz this is a chore. Even the story isn’t that engaging yet

I dont see it that way. some good games from before are still good games. I recently played the original psychonauts the last year, and god of war 3, and they were still tons of fun.

And I replayed mario galaxy (2007ish game) and it's still top tier.

I like old games too, same year as mass effect 1 bio shock and modern warfare came out. Played both of those recently and theyre still good. Mass effect 1 felt like a chore whole way through, story was interesting at the end especially. Will start mass effect 2 soon
