Any sound system brahs around?

I want to buy a pair of ACTIVE floorstanding speakers. Maybe I'd add a subwoofer, but ideally the speakers shouldn't need one.

I looked at

https://www.klipsch.com/products/r-2...nding-speakers

but they are completely impossible to find for some reason.

Any other suggestions? Budget can be anywhere between $700-$1500 depending on quality.

I see they're on Amazon. Any reason you're opting for active speakers?

I own Boston Acoustic, BIC America Acoustech, and Polk floor standing speakers and have been impressed with them all. BIC America might be the best ones. Hard to say because they're in different rooms which can change the sound due to reflections and such. I don't think you can go wrong with Klipsch though. Most floor standing speakers are pretty great compared to whatever you have prior.

As far as needing a subwoofer, you probably won't know until you buy them and it also depends how big the room is. Two of my rooms I feel like they don't need a sub, the third set is in the theatre room so those BICs are complimented by a 15" sub.

You can get a LOT more for your money on line by buying high end equipment from the 90s. I've spent a boat load of money over the last five years and my brother in laws sounds MUCH better and he spent a fraction of the cost from buying older gear.

My suggestion would be join a forum, read, ask questions and then hit craigslist and or marketplace.

I listen to a lot of music, but am by no means an audiophile. Lots of techno, psytrance, hiphop, but im not looking for anything perfect, but instead convenient. Just a couple speakers, maybe hook up a sub, but don't want to really deal with an amp too and a bunch of cables. Also, I want to easily just hook up my phone via BT and stuff.

It's essentially in my bedroom, so it's pretty small

True, but so many cables, nothing is powered, so need amp etc on the old stuff

Yeah they have pretty sick sets, thing is I don't have space for 50 speakers, as they just need to stand in one end of my bedroom.

I'm not audiphile, I just wanted something solid for my home gym....

I just put this setup together for $380 and I couldn't be happier.
They are not active so you will need to run some wires, but I mean its pretty brain dead work and a tiny bit of TLC can make it look pretty or hide them. Id recommend this.

I wouldn't reduce your options due to cables. I see those active speakers do have the APTx codec for Bluetooth. If the connection isn't wired it's going to reduce sound quality some, but if you're not an audiophile it won't be enough for you to notice. It'll still sound great through APTx.

Any floor standing speakers are going to sound great for techno and psytrance...well any genre should really, but techno and psytrance will come alive. If you do decide to open your options and not go active, there's also tube amp options which can also do bluetooth or wired connection and the sound warms up even more. Whatever floor standing speaker you go with, it should sound pretty good regardless of what you choose. Read reviews of whichever fit your budget and look at the brands I've mentioned, but there's plenty of great speaker companies out there. Like KEF is one IIRC, but I've never listened to those.

Also do you own your own home or live alone? Cuz floor standing speakers obviously make a lot of noise and push a lot of air and wouldn't even bother getting them in an apartment or if your room is near others.

a cool company to check out is "chane music and cinema"

i found out about them prior to knowing they're in florida and they ship like an hour away from me

they are an internet direct company, so they have no overhead so they can cut down on the price

their prices would be much, much higher if they were a normal store

i bought their a2.4 center channel. it is so damn clear. always had the idea of buying 2 more for my front left and right but haven't replaced my elac's

i was pretty blown away at how good 1 sub and 2 bookshelfs sounded as i was building it. now i have 7.2

There are some pretty small and convenient bluetooth/wifi amps available from pretty cheap, to pretty expensive. I have a fairly cheap Chinese one powering 2 outdoor Kicker speakers. It's been outside for 2 summers and this is the second winter. Still working perfectly. Fosi BT-20 search on amazon. 100 watts x 2.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

This. My hifi is made up of late 80 british gear and I've honestly yet to hear something better. Musician friends have been staggered the total was under Β£1k.

just buy this

or this

I have the second smaller one and I virtually never use it but always glad I have it can do bluetooth just like you want and plenty loud especially if you live in an apartment

inb4 it's Bose.

sound quality is decent to me most of these sub-humans don't even realize some of the greatest pitfalls of hi-fi audio rendering it virtually useless.

What's your budget like?

Do you really need floor standing speakers?

are you trolling? Those speakers can never recreate the sound of a track properly, let alone compared to a decent set of 2.0 or 2.1 speakers

Just lol at you thinking your hi-fi audio makes any difference when your input is most likely worse then the big turds I birth in the toilet what comes before output ( fancy speakers and Cables ) oh, That is right your PISS tier low quality audio which surely a bunch of fancy speakers can fix.
