This Fauci guy has an ego on him

Guy has credentials that I admire, without a doubt.

But his God complex is super glaring and has this smug look on him. Whereas most top scientists always promote the Feynman quote: “Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts."

Even benchmarking him with the UK version Van Tam there is something off about him.

-claims to be science, therefor any attack on him is an attack on science
-has multiple portraits of himself around his house/office and takes interviews with them in clear view
-claims death threats and rude phone calls while being a top public figure (you don't think all these public figures have security and prank calls daily?)
-dismisses all criticism with the authority complex, calling other Ivy league PHD and career medical professionals quacks

He holds this attitude like he is amazed that there is criticism coming his way. Watch his interactions with Paul or anyone with an opposing view, guy acts like he is talking to a 12 year old Qanon chitposter with how dismissive and aghast he is at others claims. () cries out in pain as he strikes you.

I'm pretty sure his point was that someone should have significantly more hands on/practical/clinical experience before being in such a role.

Should have been roped in the 1980s or double tapped for causing so much death and suffering with HIV/AIDS. Fauci is the singular reason people were afraid of catching it from normal contact with those that have it. He caused a lot of death back then too, insisting on AZT well after it was obviously making people worse.
