Should we all just accept everyone’s going to get Covid?

Like I haven’t yet.

I’ve been super careful, because I am immunocompromised

But, I feel like it’s useless now. I feel like no matter what I’m going to get it. I’m 6 months past my booster, and my local pharmacies are not doing the 4th shot yet for anyone. So now I feel kinda like, well I’m going to get it, might as well get it over and done with even if I get really ill. (Being prone to pneumonia and on chemo/cancer meds)

Like I’ve stopped going out, besides my office where I zoom meetings /court 90% of the time. But, like what’s next I get it from a gas pump? The gym I go to when it’s empty at odd hours to avoid people? The pharmacy where I pick up my meds? The doctors office? My mail?

Yes I think everyone will get COVID. It's hard to imagine you haven't been exposed at this point. Maybe you werent symptomatic.

Current varients are much less fatal than previous and this trend may continue. So I certainly wouldn't have the mindset of "oh I shouldn't have been so careful or I may as well just get it now".

Spain mentioned they want to go back to normal or consider it endemic soon as despite tests showing omicron is rampant, the number of hospitalizations is going down. It's been more than 2 years of this incompetency by governments around the world that is lining the pockets of select few while everyone else suffers.

If you happen to get it and survive then you can look forward to getting it next year and roll the dice again. Hopefully they’ll have a specific vaccine for Omicron and hopefully the virus doesn’t mutate.

The CDC estimated that 70-85% of the population has already had covid, asymptomatic or otherwise. This was back in April 2021.

I always thought we were all gonna catch COVID, it’s a novel coronavirus with zero pre-existing immunity. The only question was how it would unfold, what the infection curve would look like, etc

But the vaccines reduce the risks for those who are compromised and we have better treatments now for people who are at risk, I think that’s about the best we can hope for.
