How about trying wave loading? Makes it more fun and you can increase the weight on each set.
Ex.
1x8: 300 lbs
1x6: 315 lbs
1x4: 330 lbs
1x6: 320 lbs
1x8: 305 lbs

1x4: 330 lbs
1x6: 320 lbs
1x8: 305 lbs

It'll probably just end up being junk volume. You need a plan for progression.

5x8 is a lot and it's bound to be a lot of junk volume, you'll probably have to reduce the weight by a lot by your 4th/5th sets because if you did the first 3 sets with any appreciable amount of weight, your prime movers (i.e: chest/tris for bench) will get pretty tired and cardio wise you might get pretty tired. by then form might get pretty sloppy. not to mention you'll probably be sore for phucking days and might be too tired to do other exercises in your workout. at least imo from my experience.
if you want to do a lot of reps you can try cluster sets, or try doing more sets (i.e: 8x4s) although that will probably take you longer in the gym but you can cap your rest times. I personally would do a 3x8 maximum and if you want extra work, i.e: for bench press, maybe do a 2x12-15 incline dumbbell press. you'll probably do your joints a favour as well.
quality of reps > quantity

you can, just has to be lower weights/intensity
question is why do 5 x 8 bench press when you can do 3 x 8 bench press followed by 3 x 10 db incline press? this is a much better approach for hypertrophy
but it's not wrong, you can do it. You can do anything really, there are no rules

I have done 5x10 plenty of times but it's one of those things where I'm either going light enough that the first 2-3 sets are too easy and the last couple are hard, or so heavy that I couldn't recover by the next workout to add weight or reps.
I am doing 10x10 (gvt) for squats right now and it's great but adding weight each week I know I can only go another month before I can't hit the sets and reps.

I think in addition to trying cluster sets op you should play with doggcrapp (dc) style rest pause. It'll go faster and in my experience it's the absolute best way to do full body because your exhaustion will feel lower so you can perform better on your later exercises and recover faster for the next workout. I have tried both and 8-10 cluster sets where only the last few feel pretty difficult, versus doggcrapp which is basically 3 cluster sets to failure so every set is a challenge, I would say DC is the better way to train for results. Just watch out for your joints over time srs.

Nope. I’m currently doing full body with 7 exercises per workout and that would take way too long.
