Vitamin D supplementation linked to quick recovery from COVID (and other flu bugs?)

In June, researchers published preliminary findings showing that 26 percent of coronavirus patients died if they were vitamin D deficient soon before hospitalization, compared to 3% who had normal levels of vitamin D.

They also determined that hospitalized patients who were vitamin D deficient were 14 times more likely, on average, to end up in severe or critical condition than others.

This has been known for about 18 months now.

However, never forget, correlation does not equal causation.

Don't you think people who are NOT vitamin D deficient are also much more likely to be outside more, be fit, be healthy, be active, engage in hobbies, engage in outdoor work, have fulfilling lives etc?

I would argue people deficient in Vitamin D are more likely to live sedentary lifestyles, unhealthy, overweight / obese, lack of outdoor activities, unfulfilling lives, and probably economically depressed.

Which person do you think is more likely to have a generally stronger immune system and be unaffected by COVID or the common flu (which are virtually the same thing)?

Wrong. Quick recovery occurs when the person double masks, cancels their Spotify premium account, and virtue signals on social media.

I wouldn't doubt that both are potential causes but would need to see more data to support that...
