Short term, discord will be great. I was in a discord with LtGoose and it was great for what it was. I'm trying to see if I can set it back, but ultimately we going have to find another public forum and get the public exposure than the misc once had.

Yes. Threads that are in blatant violation (porn, racism, doxxing, etc) can just be deleted and sent off into the ether. Or, threads can be moved to the mod forum where they can be cleaned up (delete posts, pics, info within a post, etc) or if multiple large threads need to be merged. Then they can be moved back into the main forums.

It was just nice before when we actually had active mods, they would pop into a thread like this to let us know what was going on.

I thought that's what things like ******* were for. When this place was down for maintenace, a place for people who got perma'd or wanted to post things not allowed on here.


There's been a few times where I've had groups that migrated away from their original home. The big one was when Rogan shut down his forums. We've moved a couple times but have finally settled in a place.

Also, had a group from the old SPEEDtv forums that splintered off because they became so heavily moderated that pretty much anything me and my friends there would post would instantly be deleted, even if it was within their guidelines. Hosting costs were just stupid high back then though so we mainly just went to ******** or y'know, just talked on the phone with each other or did group chat if something came up.

Of course. This is just a for each loop of posts stored in a database. Hitting delete thread doesn't delete the data, just likely flips 'display' from 1 to 0 somewhere.

Discord proudly doxes its users. The trannies that work there are given free reign to do so, the management does not stop them. Do not use discord to discuss anything but the most mundane chit, or play video games or something.

Discord isn't suppose to take over as a form of replacement over forum. It's not feasible especially if you have a large number of users. It would be nothing but a cluster fook of messages. No disrespect to the other miscords, but you can see the issues when you're on it. Not everyone want to be bombarded with 200-300 messages when they log in. It's more of a backup incase someone want to discuss something about x but don't want to get banned for it, or things that would against in violation of misc rules.

Yeah I can - I think based on the thread title someone thinks it's trolling. I'm going to change try and change the thread title and see if that helps, stay tuned.

Not saying you're wrong, but I think it depends on whose the mods are. It's vital to have the right people in charge and not power tripping ones.
