Building a pull up/dip station in garden
I have a wall mounted pull up bar inside my house and do dips on my squat rack but problem is because of the ceiling I can't train for muscle ups.. So I wanna build one in my garden, that way I can also train shirtless in the summer with grey joggers on and show hbbs my impeccable form..
The best design I've seen is this one from a yt video

I have no experience with building structures (even though I majored in civil engineering lol).. Is it a good design? and should I build from wood or steel?
I was also thinking of just buying one small part of those structures that painters use to get to the upper floors in houses like this one..
Spoiler!
I've done pull ups with those and they're pretty good but look unaesthetic as fuk, would maybe ruin the garden and also would need to invent something for dips.. But probably easier, my friend has a painting company and could hook me up..

tradie checking in
those 6x6 posts need to be at least 3ft in the ground. another way would be to add some bracing

Posts should be 1/3 in the ground of total length of post. If the the post is 12 feet long total, then it should be 4 feet in the ground (at least).

I don't know how to build it either but just don't have a tradie build it for you.
Post pics when you start building it. Having a backyard calisthenics structure will be the GOAT. Love this for you

brb let me call the county and get engineer stamped plans for a fkn pullup bar. u wot?
2 feet in the ground will be fine, if it's too wobbly for your beta ass, then add some braces

Unless you are banging HTCs from the bar it looks fine. Wood is good as long as it's planted deep enough, I'd spend the extra for treated. Galvanized steel for the bars at least so they don't rust.
