The courts in WI have already ruled that drop boxes are illegal. It was appealed and a stay was issued until the SC can rule on it formally. This case was about whether or not that stay applies to the upcoming election in April, and the supreme court ruled that it does not - the lower court's ruling holds.

You can read the state's statutes yourself if you want. The only way to vote absentee in WI is through the mail, and the only place a ballot can by received is by a staffed designated location which is not a drop box by definition. I understand your need to cope but this is embarassing.

A quick google search shows op is correct. Drop boxes were ruled illegal in WI. A lib activist judge put a stay on until the SC voted. Now the SC voted to uphold the ruling that drop boxes are illegal.
