When I realized that I could smash multiple chicks without committing to any of them. Life has been much better since I gave up serious dating SRS. All girls in my life know it and accept it so they can get pounded by a nice juicy hog

About OP's question.
Military Service.
When I started living alone and realized that all the things I lived in my former house with my family belong to the past and that the time I used to spend with them in a week, its probably the time I'm gonna spend with them in the rest of my life.

After having put my first dog down when I was a kid, probably around 10, my dad and I were digging his grave in the yard. We placed him, bundled up in his blanket he had as a puppy, into the hole and filled it up. First time I ever saw my old man cry.

I had a life changing epiphany on LSD at a Phish show 12/31/94. My life at the time was in a total rut, and it motivated me to do something, and by just two years later, everything had changed (for the better).

I was diagnosed with MS back in like 2010, and it caused me to quit law school. Looking back, I would have been absolutely miserable as as attorney and although there were a few rough years while getting treatment sorted out, things have been much better since then.

Most people are complete animals though and their chimp brain tells them have kids so they do so without thought and they cope after the fact with BS like "god will provide", "you're never ready, just do it and it'll work out".

Killing a man probably changed me for the worse.
Giving up drinking after a night of binging was probably the best thing that has happened to me.

Setting up a business and realising it was successful and will be what I can retire from + giving financial independence for the first time in my life.
Stopping smoking green
Reducing / nearly cutting out alcohol
meeting my wife
Getting my dog (german shorthaired pointer)
I'm pretty well travelled and been to some crazy places, but I wouldn't say that's "changed me" I dont really get why people say travel changes them, unless theyre broke - or young af or doing it single.
Or maybe its because they actually travel for months at a time, whereas I've just been on lots of nice 'holidays' for 2-3 weeks at a time.
