Matthew Stafford being criticized for not simping. Is it fair criticism?

1) QB was probably drunk af
2) sloot photographer near hims slips off 10 foot stage
3) he sees it, mouths "OMG", and does a 360 out of there
4) his wife goes to check on sloot photographer
5) he's being criticized online for not immediately checking on her himself



What do you think? Should he have got involved or minded his own business?

Simping? White knighting? I don't know what the right term is. It doesn't matter. The point is that he's not involved and couldn't do anything anyway, yet he's being criticized for not doing anything. What's he gonna do? She's 10 feet below him on the ground. He's drunk. There are people on the ground who presumably immediately attended to her. It serves no one for him to go over to the edge of the stage and risk falling off face first himself.

I think this is only a controversy because the photographer was a sloot. If it was a man who fell, nobody on social media would have cared that Stafford turned and walked away.

he would not have been the first one there.

Plus hes a fuking NFL QB wtf is he going to do? Uncle Rico her to the nearest hospital??

He paid the medical bill. Sure his reaction isn't the best, but people are really grasping for straws here. 99.999999% of these people would have done the exact same thing minus covering her bill.

I can almost guarantee the team has a "no touch" or "no involvement" policy for the players when it comes to event staff and vendors due to liability.

His actions did appear cold and uncaring. If he had of touched her in any way it could have ended in a lawsuit, however.

In as much as not getting involved looks cold, we live in a strange world in which just about everyone is looking to get rich.

He was incoherent at that point after drinking tequila straight out of the bottle all day. The video looks bad but yeah, there wasn't a lot he could have done for her. Cool that the Rams and Staffords are paying her medical bills and replacing her damaged camera gear.

often lacks a lot of context and detail. for example guy was buzzed af and he paid the medical bills? it looks kinda bad but at the end of the day wtf was he going to do realistically. it's not really that deep.

it does make memeworthy material tho

hope she is okay tho, but checking on somebody to see if they are okay after a fall isn't simping

It is just a constant people filming everything 24/7, uploading it with zero context, or showing certain portions to fit their narrative, then the Twotterati get outraged & call for cancellation, then it is usually forgotten about within a day or so as a bigger star gets caught on film doing something, or some nobody does something outrageous'
