Is switching from white bread to wheat bread, and white rice to brown rice, enough?

Some of my favorite foods to make at home are hotdogs, hamburgers, and lunch meat sandwiches. Those things all require bread, but I gotta admit to myself that these things are among my top consumed foods when it comes to my diet. Also I'm a fan of chicken + rice, maybe with some black beans/cheese/vegetables. For years I've been thinking of myself as being somewhat healthy by eating brown rice instead of white rice, wheat bread instead of white bread, however I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it to just avoid carbs as whole altogether. Cold turkey on it, talking zero bread, zero rice. Some carbs on the side can occur from things like milk for example. What are the pros / cons from eliminating breads and rice from my pantry altogether?

Bread: multigrain > whole wheat > white

Rice: mixed grain > brown > white

Based on glycemic control and nutrition-to-calorie content.

Thanks for that. Multigrain sandwich bread and maybe even hamburger buns should be easy to find. But can pretty much guarantee you that out of the 3 mainstream grocery stores I go to, only one of them has non-white hotdog buns, and it's just normal wheat I believe. Again another alternative is to just venture out and ditch breads and rice, trying to see if that's gonna have more pros than cons or not?

Also I found the below from a Business Insider article about whole wheat vs multigrain...
whole wheat bread is healthier than multigrain bread. Case closed on the multigrain vs whole wheat bread discussion. Because 100 percent whole wheat bread has the whole grain, nutrients like B Vitamins, iron, zinc, copper, manganese and magnesium remain intact with every slice you use to make yourself a PB and J.

Eating whole wheat, and thereby whole grain, bread also helps to lower the risk of a stroke, diabetes, heart disease, asthma, and colorectal (colon) cancer. What's more, whole wheat bread also has an excellent amount of protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and fiber.

The main kicker hurting multigrain's chances is that multigrain bread's health benefits are really up in the air depending on which grains are used. Unless the label of the multigrain bread specifies that it is 100 percent whole wheat or 100 percent whole grain, it may still be made primarily from white flour.

You want to buy bread with a "whole multigrain" label instead, or with "whole wheat" or "whole-grain flour" listed first on the label's ingredient list. Then you'll know you're in the clear.

For health, yes. For weight loss, probably not.

โ€œBrownโ€ grains tend to have more fiber and less starch, which is good for bowel health and blood glucose control.

However, this doesnโ€™t necessarily mean you will see a lot of weight loss. Check the labels on fiber, carbs, calories, and compare serving sizes to get a grasp on how they will effect your fat loss.

Specific food choice is irrelevant in the context of daily nutrition.

I personally only buy the 2-pack at Costco, whole wheat or multi-grain, whatever they have. I just try to make sure it's organic.

I think the micro nutrients are just as important as the macro. And likely organic has a higher ratio.

switching to a different type of carb will make virtually no difference... there may be adjustments as your body adapts to a digesting a different staple food in your diet, but that's the biggest difference you'll see

if you're healthy and switch from brown rice to white rice, you won't become fat... if you're fat and switch from white rice to brown rice, you won't become healthy

for most people, if they're trying to lose weight I suggest going cold turkey on carb foods for a good 2-3 months at least... you need to go through several rounds of successfully deciding NOT to eat it to get over the addiction and have your taste adjust to a different palette

Grains have virtually no "nutrients" regardless. Brown rice will just **** up your digestion. Any added "nutrients" you think you're getting will be countered by the increase in anti-nutrients present as well as irritation to your digestion.

Priorities.

Ballpark calories, get 1g/lb protein, personally I do better on 1.5g/lb, 0.5g/lb fat.

Then figure out your personal needs and tolerance to carbs. Most people are fat motionless fuks and thus should never eat ANY carbs. Not until they stop feeling hungry and sleepy all the time aka poor tolerance to carbs, and not until they see their abs. But if youโ€™re an athlete with abs you better eat carbs around training, especially if you are about to compete in some sport that requires explosiveness, since carbs are fast energy.

Fuking around with brown vs white rice does fuk all.
