Isn't the U.S. kind of hypocritical to try to tell Russia to stay out of Ukraine?

It's not exactly the same thing, but when Russia was trying to load up Cuba with nukes back in the day the U.S. was having no part of it and ultimately Russia backed down after the Cuban Missile Crisis.

You have all of these former Russian states like Estonia, Latvia, etc joining NATO which means they are basically aligned with the EU and the U.S.A., and at some point Russia has drawn the line and said "that's close enough fellas".

Absolutely think it is fair and fine for Russia to want Ukraine to stay neutral and not join up with NATO. Do you think the U.S. would be OK with British Columbia or Baja Mexico being annexed by China? Yeah I don't think so either.
Look, you're my best friend, so don't take this the wrong way but, in 20 years if you're still here postin' in hhhnnnggg threads, beggin' for mod reps, and braggin' about whales you harpooned from POF, I'll f'in kill ya. That's not a threat, that's a fact, I'll f'in kill ya. You got somethin' none of us have, and you don't owe it to yourself man, you owe it to me. Cuz tomorrow I'm gonna wake up and I'll be red, and I'll still be a socially awkward/FA. And that's all right.

To understand the situation just read a translation of Putin's speech. He tells it just like it is.

Since World War II, during a supposed golden age of peace, the United States military has killed or helped kill some 20 million people, overthrown at least 36 governments, interfered in at least 85 foreign elections, attempted to assassinate over 50 foreign leaders, and dropped bombs on people in over 30 countries. The United States is responsible for the deaths of 5 million people in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, and over 1 million just since 2003 in Iraq.

Just like we do... He omits or disregards certain things, while painting a specific narrative

Drone strikes against Abu Sayyaff is a damn hard reach in the Philippines. That’s a far cry from “bombing a nation”
