It’s all about the oil baby.

This is all about the oil pipelines and commodities in general. Just lol at Ukraine thinking being sandwich in between Russia and the EU wouldn’t end badly.

Russia is such a massive producer of natural gas (#1 in the world) and oil (top 5?) that their pipelines run through Ukraine.



The EU does not have the fossil fuel resources to meet its energy needs, and has to import 70% of its oil, 50% of its natural gas and 44% of its coal (IIEA). At a cost of almost €600 billion a year.

Russia provides over half of the EU’s fossil fuel imports. In 2013, Europe imported a third of its oil from Russia (over 2 billion barrels), more than from any other region of the world (see figure below), plus 40% of its natural gas and a little over 25% of its coal (BP Review of World Energy). Germany was the biggest recipient of Russian gas.

Now let’s look at Ukraine’s top commodities. They have ports and pipelines (Russian pipelines). Ukraine doesn’t have any commodities worth anything. So why would Russia (and the EU) care if Russia takes over Ukraine?

Everyone sees Biden and his crew as weak. Russia (and the EU) are taking advantage. Belarus on suic*de watch.

I'm reading about another big player in the US natural liquid gas sector wanting to usurp Russian monopoly on European energy.


Nord v2 bypasses Ukraine altogether, so Ukraine definitely is of minor importance in terms of the resource discussion, and only valid involvement is in being a pawn for NATO's advancement to Russia's door step

Ukraine is the pawn and their “leadership” has let them down (voters that voted for them as well).

Ukraine is stuck between Russia and the EU. They have no natural resources or world reserve currency. A real Ukraine leader would of joined the EU or became Russia’s friend but the people voted for hipsters and now look where they are. Two days ago they were Ukrainian and now they are Russian or refugees. I don’t feel bad for them.
