Will a heavy bag hurt my house

I recently bought a 100 lb heavy bag and a bracket to hang it off of a wall but now that I think about it could this damage my home? I’m going to be doing a lot of work on it striking and kicking and I throw with a lot of power could it hurt the structural integrity of my house bouncing around and slamming it into the wall? I live in a small older townhome if that helps

Drill a piece of wood into the wall where the bag would contact (probably bottom of bag) as a barrier to protect the wall

As far as structural integrity I’d make sure your bracket goes into at least two different studs

Had a heavy bag in home (basement) for years. If you hang it properly you'll be fine. Shaking and rattling of the house is normal when striking. Pretty badass causing a mini earthquake.

Another vote for buying a stand, even new they're cheap; paid $80 for mine on sale. Nice not having to mount it and you can always move it later, no worries about house damage either.

This. You can buy a stand to keep in your basement that holds in a position similar to having it hang from a ceiling/wall. Notice the guys saying stuff like how haning it "can be done if done right", you'll make your house rumble and chit when you do it. That can't be good for the structural integrity of the place, not to mention it'd piss off your neighbors plus anyone else in the house. A stand in the basement would solve all that easily.

IMO the only good stand is the hangman style one and that needs to be bolted down to concrete
All other stands restrict you from moving around the bag too much. Free stand/ hanging is def the better option , just make sure you attach your bag to a strong joist

Tbh I feel like the stand would make it akward and I’d end up hitting my foot while roundhouse kicking I’ll probably just pay a little extra money to go to a gym with a heavy bag
