ITT: We misc until the site ends

I can't believe it's been over a a decade since I found this place. You know what that means? I've been miscing for 1/3st of my life.

I learned so much stuff here, challenged my long held beliefs about things in life, learned how to get swol, got into some deep philosophical debates, had some of the greatest laughs I've ever had, and talked with so many cool people over the years.

I've met a few of you in real life, so many avatars I recognize since I started, missing the posters that will never log on again.

You know what misc is? It's a family. It's a community that for one reason or another, we need. We needed a different type of tribe to belong to. We were all of bunch of asylum qualified lunatics that pass as normal people IRL that managed to bond together through this site.

There have been highs and lows, laughs and cries, mirin and not mirin.

And for the most part, I love it.

You're the people I can be weird with. Where nothing I say is weird because you're all weird too.

I may not know all your usernames, but you're all miscers, past, present, and hopefully one day, future.

I love you guys srs, and I wish all of you the best in life.

The misc has become essentially the last web 1.0 holdout for me, the last place on the internet that I really enjoy hanging out and feel like I can relate to people at. Big tech social media is just some far left echo chamber or it's full of vapid NPC's. The internet pretty much feels dead these days.

I go to reddit when misc is slow (yes I said it), but it's so shallow. There's more activity all over the place, but their setup doesn't allow for organic discourse like old school forums.

Reddit just feels too backwards and ignorant to me, like there is no point on going there unless there's some obscure sub that you enjoy. Honestly though, I just find the entire site off-putting, like it's got this dark energy surrounding it.

Misc will die with us unfortunately. The forum is closed to outsiders and with no new members, the median age of the misc will keep increasing. Oldcel miscers will pass away and the millennial miscers will be gone soon after. This place will be a cemetery eventually, with hundreds of thousands of threads/posts but no one to read them

The only subs worth going to are the really small ones for a special interest once or twice a day. But they feel empty too. The whole internet feels like this now.
