What’s your 5 year plan boyos?

With a lot of uncertainty in the world, what’s your 5 year plan?

Living situation
Job situation
Money situation
Etc etc.


I want to buy at least 10 acres of land and do some farming. I would like to get into day trading as well. As a single guy living in the northeast I would want to make 100k a year so I can mog everyone around me.

My 5 year plan is I’ll be dead within 5 years.

Why am I even putting money into a 401k? I won’t survive until retirement age.

I dunno dude I don’t think I’m gonna live long.

Yeah like I said I don’t think me putting away $600 a month is gonna make a difference. I’ll be dead by the time it matters.

I pretty much wanna live long enough so my parents don’t suffer from me dying. After that, there’s no point. Minimize suffering of others, I guess. You can call it whatever you want.

Just continuing to plug away and putting savings aside.

I'm a senior software engineer, so I hope to just continue what I'm doing.

If the world gets crazier, I might jet to latin america. Not sure which country. The GOAT countries of 5 years ago are now pretty unsafe/unstable.

Yeah it’s pretty ridiculous. Plan for retirement? I can’t plan chit. My dad had a heart attack when he was 60, and he was was healthy and thin. He almost died, had to get a fukin bypass surgery.

I’m just enduring every fuking chit day and waiting for the moment when my life ends. There’s nothing else.

I've gotten to the point where the income from my multifamily units offset remaining mortgage and my family's living expenses. From there I would like to have my debts paid within 5 years and with that I could retire to pursue something I'm more passionate about like woodworking.

Currently I'm 26 making about $85k base, but gross is $120k pre-tax after considering overtime, bonuses, etc. while working remotely. 5'10 hovering around 165-170 lbs. Got a '18 Camry that is fully paid off, no student loans or any other debt, 790 credit score. Renter, don't have any non-retirement savings other than an emergency fund of $15k. No non-retirement investments. Got roughly $55k in roth 401(k) that is almost fully vested. Currently single after a recent breakup of 3.5 years LTR, living alone.

5 years from now at 31 I'd like to still be working remotely, though I'd like to be at $120k+ base with no overtime at all. By then my roth 401(k) would be fully vested and I'd like to see $100k+ in it. I'd like to be closer to 155 lbs, and having kept around there for years. Seeing as it'll be 2027, I'd probably have a different car, likely Toyota/Honda unless I go full on Tesla or some chit. I'd still be debt free, except perhaps a mortgage, though I'd need to be confident I want to live where ever I'd end up being at of course. Would hope to have honestly $150k+ in non-retirement investments. Probably in another LTR by that point, can see being single though too, living alone regardless, though I don't know where.

Fuking hell. Can't count how many times my parents have told me that about some of their friends who retired.

One got a stroke, the other got cancer and was gone in a year the others passed to other sorts of complications.

Might as well live by the saying: Live fast, die young but leave a good looking corpse.
