Does Anyone Still Lift Around Here?

Any of you fawkers besides DrewDarden still actually lift?

Things have been feeling pretty good for me lately, hit a 5 lb PR double today with 510# at 200 BW. Was definitely pretty close to a max effort lift but it moved steady if a bit slow.

Surprised it hasn't happened yet TBH. I guess when you casually pull their 1rm for a warmup it quiets em down a bit, lol.

Lifting rn, I'm pretty out of shape though. My back has been a mess, every time I get momentum lifting it gets hurt and I get set back again. I've got a solid month in at this point, and it seems the initial pain after lifting has subsided. I started my cut a week ago, and hopefully cardio next week, and I'll be back in shape by summer as long as my back continues to cooperate.

I've not deadlifting 510 by any stretch, I'm completely done with deads and squats.

Lighter dead lifting has actually been good for my back however I do not push it at all. I also quit if there is any pain. Adding this back in so far has kept me from having any back issues for the past 9 months atleast. I usually end up twice a year some nasty back issues so this is pretty good.

I'll try to work it in if I can eventually. Right now I get a lot of soreness from just dumbell rows (knee on the bench kind) which only use the lower back as a stabilizer. I do body weight and bulgarian split squats, but I can't see putting and significant strain like deads until at least the rows stop hurting.

After your back heals, maybe consider trying out Trap Bar lifts...and Box Squats. Both are things I went to after recovering from a couple of serious back injuries with sciatica...and am able to do them.pain free. I use a safety squat bar as well.

There's also belt squat machines a lot more affordable now. There's leg press, but srs that can also hurt your back if it rounds at the bottom.

And great job OP!!! Awesome lift

Just got serious about lifting again in January. For the first time ever I am focusing on bodybuilding instead of just trying to get stronger on the basic lifts and hope that my physique looks ok as a result. Doing all sorts of tempo work, unconventional exercises, focusing on mind muscle connection etc. Feels great just upped my frequency from U/L 4x to PPL 6x we outchea

Best way to deadlift srs makes me stronger than if I use straps or hook grip. Just make sure to flex your tris gently so that your biceps don't snap.
