IS losing 8 lbs in a month during a cut good? Too fast?

Started my cut 5 weeks ago and I'm 8 lbs down. Is this too fast? I don't notice any strength losses but I think my muscles are a bit smaller.

No strength loss, so you're likely fine

depends how much fat you're holding, the more you have the faster you can get rid of more

it's at lower levels where you have to slow down so you down lose too much muscle

My friends tell me I'm around 18% bf. I can barely see my abs. Still got lots of fat around my love handles and upper arms.

I've been cutting about a month and have lost 8-10 pounds of fat. I'd say it's a reasonable amount at the start.

5 pounds is probably more reasonable as things go on.

Going to a music festival in a month and Vegas the week after... just trying to lose as much as possible without starving myself hence why I'm doing lots of cardio 3x/wk

You wont starve yourself.
Get a refeed day like 2 days before the festival to look shredded

Honestly with the cardio you could probably get away with 2.2-2.4k

8 pounds is fine.

if you were already lean then its really good. if you were a bloatlord then you can lose that in a week with most of it just being water loss. either way it would be hard for 8 pounds in a month to be "too much" unless you were already very lean micromanlet and you went from 140 to 132 or something

At 25% BF, you can double that. At 8% it's al.ost impossible to do even 6lbs per month.

20lbs on a manlet? That must of been 40% of your body weight.

You use water manipulation tactics or did you look like this?
