Car Pron post 3 (or maybe 4) Any vette fans?

Getting to have a fun day tomorrow. Got invited with a group of buddies to tour Rick Hendricks private car collection and lunch. A few of his drivers will be there and getting hang out and tour his facility.

His collection is approx 250 cars but 180 are vettes. I used to be a HUGE vette fan. Not so much now. But he paid 3 mil for serial 0001 C8 which will be there. Should be a fun day. Also going to find out a lot about his Track Attack program. Basicly they build you a race car that you can then track. Pretty incredible cars. Tube frame with full roll bar, 630 hp motors and 6 speed sequential trans. Ultimate track toy.

Will post up some pics! I have not driven my H in almost 2 months so time to dust it off for this little trip!

Yea, it is pretty nuts especially if you like american cars. Many significant cars in the collection. He also has some other notable cars in there. Kind of excited to spend the afternoon doing this.

At some point I am going to have to get some work done. My son and I raced Virginia International last week and I have not been able to get back in work mode since.

Long day and was awesome. Probably be a big pic dump since I cant explain it all. But short overview. Got to tour the Nascar shops and training facilities. Got a tour of engine production. No pics allowed in there or in the race shops.

Trophy rooms, with actual winning cars. The Dupont Daytona winner is unwashed from race. Even has confetti still on it with left over dried champagne splashes. Lunch in his conference room, which is a table made with a 64 fulie vette running gear. It was from his first car that he had to sell and they later tracked it down and restored it.

Inside collection EVERY 1967 big block vette color option offered is represented. Even the single car that got delivered in primer is in the collection. Hero cars from transformer movies, Optimus Prime included. MANY seriel 001 cars. COPO and Yenco camaros. Just GOBS of stuff.

At the end, we got to go into his man room which is never shown to the public. In it, a collection of every thing from Babe Ruths orig 2 notch bat, to a foot ball singed from every year of the super bowl by the winning quarter back. 100's of guitars from Hendrix to Clapton. Just beyond words stuff.

I have some cool vids I will upload later. But, yea...being around all these classics kind of relit my fire and appreciation for them. 69 Camaro was the ultimate car for my high school generation. You could buy them for 6-7k. Lots of vettes and history, but the coolest part might have been his collection of items music, sports.. Like how many Hendrix guitars you get to see within eyeshot of a game used Babe Ruth bat. Mind blowing

But you seem like a happy well-adjusted dude so that can't be the case.
