Finally gave in and got a meal delivery service
I’m a huge fan of outsourcing tasks but I like cooking and resisted in the past because:
-serving sizes have been tiny
-quality of meat has been bad
-macros/ratios are way off
-very bland
-delivery inconvenient
-poor value
Have to admit they’ve lifted their game a lot
-much better macros/protein contents
-delivered in insulated cold bags with ice packs
-fresh and vacuum sealed
-decent serving sizes -can eat 2 per day with big breakfast and protein shake and not feel like I’m starving
-flavour is ok
-impressive variety of meals
Overall I would recommend giving it a try, it definitely saves a lot of time

Haven't done a full on meal service. I did do Blue Apron where you still have to cook everything.
Protein portions way too skimpy. I'd rqther pay extra for some proper portioning on the protein versus paying the regular rate for a piece of fish that is gone in literally 4 bites.

The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

Which one? Every time I try those services the food is always disgusting.

How do you know the macros are way off? Curious… I’m no scientist but maybe you are and can verify if what they claim is accurate
"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Is the cost ridonkulous though? Even if you can afford it, it just seems like a huge waste of money unless you literally don’t have time to cook. At least with the prices I’ve seen.

As for price, discounts for ordering a couple weeks worth, maybe 9-11 Australian pesos per meal?
Wife picked it because it was the only one with decent variety and some semblance of protein balance
Probably wouldn’t be enough food if I was doing GVT or similar but enough to hit maintenance with 4-5 hours a week in the gym for a 100kg male

Excellent thread!
My favorite parts:
- The price you pay
- The company you choose
- Do you just heat it up? or do you actually have to cook?
Great thread with tons of detail. Will be subscribing to your threads from now on. Can't wait to see more informative threads in the future! 10/10

I've been thinking about this and doing some research for the past few weeks. I hate the idea of having to sign up and cancel when you're no longer interested. I love to cook but thought it might be nice to try something different.

Obviously we’ll still cook from time to time but out of choice rather than necessity

I ended up ordering a bunch of protein from Omaha Steaks. They're pricey but I never treat myself so I said fuk it lol...
I won't be going out to eat either so it's worth it.

I would try using if after the initial promo discount/free weeks, it didn't end up costing as much as takeout/delivery. And the lower number per week plans are even less worthwild.
