$1 million to float on sea for a night on a surfboard. Do you do it?

As per title, one million paid to you on the condition you spend the night floating at sea on nothing but a surfboard. Dropped off at nightfall, picked up at dawn. Don't need to do anything but float, and if you're still there at dawn, one million paid to you. You're not near shore either, at least a few kilometres out. Can't paddle back to land.







Do you do it? IMO, hell no. I'd be terrified beyond belief. Dunno if any amount of money could persuade me.

I mean way out in the middle of the ocean is safer then by the beach. Oceans are like giant deserts most life Is closer to shore.

Depends on water temperature, wind conditions, what kind of sealife is there etc.

Brb you're in a storm in freezing water where you'd be lucky to survive ten minutes.

If the scenario is just being surrounded by water and dark then it's ez as **** and OP is a poocee.

I used to go shark fishing on the beach all the time at night

I had to paddle out about 300 yards in a kayak to drop the bait, it was scary as chit

If there was some regulation whereby I wouldn't roll off and drown during the night, or freeze to death, and my life was basically guaranteed until I was picked up...then yes I would do it.

If there is NO such reguation or safeguard and if you die, you die...then no.

I don't understand the fear of this.
Somewhere like the North Sea or North Atlantic would kill you pretty quick, but it would be fine to chill out on a board in the equatorial pacific overnight

Your life isn't guaranteed, that's kind of the point of the bet, lol. I guess you can control for temperature and not drop you off in freezing waters, but you're otherwise at the mercy of the turbulence of the sea, sharks etc.

I forget the name of it, but remember there was a recent show where two ex military guys spent a couple days floating in the ocean. IOne of the fellow had had a foot bitten off by a shark years earlier. t was done to demonstrate what it was like in war when your ship was sunk.

the show reminded me of a grandfather of mine. His ship was sunk by the Japanese in WW2 and he spent 3 days floating in the water off the Philippines coast He was lucky to have survived and not be eaten by sharks, obviously.

youre bold for that. day time, for me its w.e but not being able to see/pitch black is just...unsettling

l went skydiving once and wasnt nervous at all. The pro jumper with me even said i seemed really chill. but if i had to do it at night i'd have a heart attack. I'd rather do the throw the parachute out the plane and catch it, put it on in the air vs jumping with a pro at night.


i've never been in the deep sea tbh so maybe i wouldnt be scared but the idea spooks me for sure

It'd be suicide.

If you slip off your board you have nothing to hold on to. Also good luck regaining your board when it's pitch black and u can't see chit. Also oceans are really cold. There's no terrain or anything that keeps the suns warmth in the surroundings.

All it takes is just one wave that knocks you off and you're done for.

I wouldn't.

far from suicide, youd just have to keep your cool. big longboards are really stable and unless you are in a hurricane ocean waves dont break, they are just big smooth bulges that would have little effect on your surfboard
