Anyone had a wisdom tooth removed?

Getting a lower one pulled today. How long were you out for? I hear its not too bad, but I've never had anything done like this.

I had all 4 pulled at once. Not sure how long I was out for but not very long. I was pretty loopy afterwards.

I Had some noticeable jaw pain for about a week and mainly ate liquid foods. The hole where your tooth used to be is gross you have to squirt food out with a water syringe

Is getting your tooth pulled out more painful than a root canal?

I had a bad experience. You have no clue how fast you go out and then I woke up early while he still had the wrench in my mouth trying to get the fourth one out and I started screaming cause I literally had no clue I had been out and it was almost over. It was like I just blinked and that was the next thing I saw. So yeah have fun brah.

I donโ€™t think they usually put you to sleep for a root canal so I bet thatโ€™s worse

Yes, I got all four removed in one day. Bled like a mf four a couple days, so that kind of sucked. And itโ€™s youโ€™re mouth is pretty sore. But other than that wasnโ€™t all too bad.

Mine were out far enough already so they didnโ€™t have to put me to sleep. They just numbed my gums.

Itโ€™ll be fine, just use the water sprayer after you eat and stick to soup and chit for a few days at least

Had plenty of root canals in my time, they ain't so bad. And I have ridiculously sensitive teeth. I tell them to load me up with enough novocaine to put down a rhino and I still feel it. Luckily a couple times the actual nerve was dead so I literally felt nothing. Another time, they had to squirt novocaine directly onto the exposed nerve because no amount they injected into my gums helped. But you just gotta tell yourself to man the fuk up and do it. Literally thousands of root canals are performed every day.

As for wisdom teeth, I'm the same as the German dude above. Have had my dentist telling me for 10 years I need to get them removed. Other than the fact that people do it, he really can't give me a legit example as to why I need them removed. They don't hurt, they don't bother me, they're doing fine. Just seems like wasted money, time, and effort to do something that's irrelevant at this time.

I haven't, fuk that dead srs. Many people I know have primarily due to them growing in crooked or becoming infected as they're hard to reach with the tooth brush/floss. All people I know who have had them removed were frozen and said it felt weird to basically have the dentist breaking and pulling out what is essentially bone from your head.

Expect lots and lots of bleeding. Bring towels srs.

Had two lower ones removed due to double jaw surgery I needed. They put me to sleep as mine were still under the skin. Woke up high as a kite on codeine. Was painful for about a week.

I had all of my wisdom teeth removed less than a year ago. They put me out for the surgery because two of them were impacted. The experience was fine, it hurt later that day and the next day but Motrin helped. Wasnโ€™t a big deal.

It wasn't bad. For me the area was numbed. Then the doctor had some medical pliers which he used to pull the tooth out. It didn't hurt but was of course a lousy feeling. The area was healed up within a few weeks.

I had all four removed at once, after having that intermittent "tightness" for years as a teen. I was so drugged up I didn't feel a thing. I even asked the orthodontist how much this would hurt without the good stuff. He said he would be peeling me off the ceiling within seconds of passing out. Dental pain is no joke.

When I got home and slept that night i experienced the most amazing feeling of euphoria and was convinced that something happened to change my life forever, and that I would always feel that good. Then I woke up the next day and felt normal with a slight toothache, lol. That's when I realized how good those drugs are. But I'll never forget that feeling of euphoria.

I had all 4 out at once. I have become reasonably skeptical over the last several years, however. I wonder how many other countries outside of the US have their people routinely get their wisdom teeth out. No doubt some people may have problems but overall feel like it's a scam.
