Oh man...it must suck to be a male nurse.

Just imagine...

-all your coworkers are women;
-they wanna fuk the doctors and not you;
-everyone sees you like a little **** (male doctors, female doctors, female nurses etc)

...you are like their gay friend even if you are not gay.

Not to mention you spend your day whipping old guys's asses and disinfecting wounds

Seems like a cope thread OP. Male RNs probably slay as much or more than most professions. Most people rather fawk or date those on their level than date up and fell less than.

this.

but btw, to all nurses out there... why did you become a nurse? Why not a doctor?

I have nothing agaist it. If you are happy, then great. Wouldn't treat you differently than I treat a doctor. But I'm curious.

Fortunately... only a few times.

But aren't nurses there to "support" doctors?(aka doing the easier jobs like taking care of pacients after surgeries, desinfecting wounds, vax people, etc...=

If you even have to ask that question you don't have high enough IQ to become a doctor (Sorry, but SrS). It's pretty obvious and simple, RN schooling is much easier to get into, easier to grauate from, quicker to get through, and cheaper.

lulzy, I don't want to become a doctor. Sounds like you are coping.

"schooling is much easier to get into, easier to grauate from, quicker to get through" EXACTLY! Who is the low IQ here? Who is the lazy one that chooses the carreer based on "difficulty"?

The only decent option would be: Thats what I always wanted to do/Thats my vocation...but you didn't say that, you said you chose it because it was easier. Thats the lazy/dumb mentality I'm talking about. Your answer shows lack of IQ (or at least lack of confidence).

And you don't need a high IQ to be a doctor. You need will power and work ethics/discipline (average IQ would be more than enough for 99% of bachelor degrees).

So.. you are just saying that I am right!?

Not saying all the male nurses are ****s, which is implicit here : "you are like their gay friend even if you are not gay.".

First, I work in HCO management, not patient care, so no coping.

Second, you asked a stupid question with what should be an obvious answer. Why don't RNs just be MDs is like saying why don't people who go to community college just got to Harvard? Many people choose career paths based upon their abilities and willingness to invest time and money.

The negative stigma of male nurses kinda died after that movie Meet The Parents, lol.

Or at least it’s been heavily destigmatized over the years. One of my friends is a male nurse and he does just fine with women. He said it’s way better than when he was a surgeon’s technician which is basically the surgeon’s bitch/gofer.

on one hand you are right - usually guys in professions with a lot of women tend to be around them and have connections from there

on the other hand - if I am male, I would aim to do medical school for the greater responsibility, leadership and decision making aspect

There are more female doctors than male doctors now. In fact, most of the health system is female dominated these days (diversity of peace). Male nurses are becoming more and more regular. The way I see it, if you're one of the only accessible men swimming in a sea of female colleagues, you're bound to get attention.

that's simply incorrect.
granted there are some stupid doctors, usually in foreign countries where the standards are lower - but they can't practice in the west. so go figure.

to be able conceptualise certain concepts, like those in the field of medicine, you need to meet a certain IQ threshold which most people simply dont do.

do you think 99.9% of the population WANTS a highly respected, challenging, and well paid profession? of course they do.

so why are so many people going to university to get degrees which are the polar opposite of the above? you're still sitting on your ass reading from a textbook aren't you? but its for some BS bajor

so the answer is, they either a) can't get in to med school or B) know they can't so don't try or C) have no interest in medicine - which if that was the case, why not be in some other profession (which isn't a BS major like social studies)

and before you say well that's because they lack the willpower, that in itself is a form of low IQ. if you get someone who is so short sighted they will literally hinder their ENTIRE LIFE by getting a useless degree and working in McDonalds in their 20s, that is a form of stupidity.
No intelligent person would make that tradeoff.

Tradesmen: Work all day with men, to tired when home to do anything. Likely go and drink with bros on weekend, maybe invest into going out or dating apps

male nurse: literally swimming in women all day, new 20 something grads with daddy issues thanks to social media every year, brb float to another floor to have a new 7 sloots to hit on

Its really not that bad op, my college parties were always 6 to 1 women to male

Nah I've dated nurses and was even married to one.

In a lot of environments a registered nurse is the boss. So a male RN could be running a nursing home or something and have a bunch of sloot practical nurses and nurses aids working for him.

Doctors don't even work at those places, they just get called in from time to time.

Now in a hospital full of doctors you won't be top dog, but a RN or RNP is still going to have more clout than a lot of people. There's still tons of support staff like admin and stuff.

Got a friend who is a male nurse.

Dude makes like 98k a year working 3 12 hour shifts and pounds a new nurse every week.

Male nurse: Sir let me change your diaper.

Sir let me wipe the chit off your arsehole

Humiliating job and useless. Pretty much listens to what the doctor tells them to do then works as a daycare/housekeeper.

This. Nurses make like $100k working 3 shifts a week. Nurses are way different now than what most people think, they make plenty of decisions that impact patient care and wiping butts is way down on the list of their daily activities. Plus the dudes are surrounded by women all day, no doubt they have tons of potential slay partners.

Nursing, male or female, is a fantastic career.

Being a male nurse is like being a male cheerleader. Everybody thinks you're a bit gay, and you likely don't have many masculine male friends. But you could easily keep a rotation of 5-6 girls at all times if you really wanted.

There are a lot of nurses who are weird feminist types also, which makes them both crazier and easier to have sex with.
