Built an end grain cutting board, what does the misc think?

Not super large, 16x10.5x1.75 with rubber feet it sits about 2 inches tall

First I made two boards from some scraps, i think they were 14 or 15 inches long

then I crosscut both and alternated the pattern standing them up on end, and since I had planed/drum sanded pre-cut they were an easy glue

board planed and run through the drum sander to flatten er out nicely

Natural light really shows the orange in the padauk

Next i routed and worked the grits up to 320, water popping each time to get any grain out.

Then i gave it a nice bath of mineral oil, tomorrow ill make a mixture of beeswax and mineral oil to give it a finish buff and protect it for use

Looks fantastic.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

from what I've seen on the market prices definitely vary by complexity, size wood choice, and for upper-end outliers internet clout can result in insane prices. I would say the average price for a 16inch 1+ inch end grain board with decent pattern/exotics used is 150-250usd, 20 inchers 200-400usd though ive seen some guys making sales much higher than that. Generally, these prices include shipping (around 20-30 dollars for this size and weight from USPS or Canada post)

I feel like shipped with 2oz of board wax 200 is a fair price, there's a decent amount of work for doing multi board designs

My goal is making 10k dining room tables

in woodshop class the first project we ever made was a cutting board
to those who think a project like this is out of their league: no. it takes time to allow glue to set, and tools
1-2 hours of work and 2 nights of overnight glue setting
