This is a big gripe of mine. Liberals pay lip service to the idea of corporations paying taxes, but seem perfectly fine with the individual tax rates for the execs of those corporations to be hella low.

Taxing a corporation hurts its bottom line and reduces amounts available for pay to employees and execs alike, but mostly employees. Also reduces dividends, which hurt avg Joe’s 401k. I am honestly fine with corp tax rate being low / nonexistent.

But the ultra wealthy need to be taxed their fair share or we are fukked. But fukking libs are super cool with billionaires having lower tax rates than avg Joe because billionaires shoot out the occasional tweet “we gotta have more equitable society. #blm”

You know who pays corporations taxes?? We do. The consumers. Wanting higher taxes for corporations = wanting to pay higher prices for everything. I understand that the 90% of numb nuts in this country can't begin to understand that, but the idiots we elect to high office dont even understand it either.

I am laughing my ass off at how people are defending Disney. They recently moved a few thousand jobs out of Cali to have a lower tax rate in FL (to the tune of over half a billion) then think it’s okay to get involved with local politics after asking for so much.

large corporations already have lower costs from using 3rd world slave labor and poverty quality materials, why put businesses with more integrity at a further disadvantage by making them pay higher taxes

What does that actually mean? The top 550 billionaires wealth is about $5 Trillion. If you confiscate it all, that funds the federal gov for about 9 months based on 2021 spending.

Lol strong assumptions in your post!

I’m using “corporations” in the colloquial sense to refer to entities taxes as c corps, since most publicly traded companies are taxed as c corps.

I’m not a tax advisor, but seems weird that your lil company wouldn’t be taxed as an s corp or partnership so you can escape the corp level of tax. But there are reasons for this (to “shelter” the owners from tax on phantom income, for example) - your situation def not the standard though. Or maybe your are not in the USA?

In any case, you nit picked at one little thing I wrote to keep the discussion simple — talk about losing the forest for the trees.

Yeah not a clear definition. But considering that marginal tax rates, but considering that marginal tax rates stop after 628k joint income, something higher than that obvs, since it is ridiculous to tax dollar 628,001 at the same rate as dollar 1,000,000,001. (Before someone nit picks like French potato above, I’m purposefully keeping this simple).

Yeah it's amazing what the modern leftist has become. I remember when they were the people who used to mock and make fun of the corporate white collar types, now they're the corporate white collar yes men defending censorship and puritanical authoritarianism.
