One of the guys in my office just got promoted last week and resigned today

Cliffs
- Guy got promoted last week, making around 240k in his new role
- Left today to work at a different company in another industry

Bursted out laughing when i saw the update on LinkedIn, such is life in the great resignation.

He probably got offered $300k.

Funny thing, he'll be fired in another 9 months when we hit a recession and they evaluate that he's not even coming close to justifying his salary anymore.

Well that will certainly be a wake-up call.

if he is stupid with money, most likely will end up in a van down by the river.

240k pesos is like $12k in real money

Perhaps he found a job with an American company that will pay minimum wage in USD

12k USD per month, which is what the 240k means in Mexico City is enough to have a nice flat in Polanco, kids in a good school, a hot wife who looks after children, and plenty of time for travelling and whores several times a month.

Most miscers just rot in Dallas and go to Cancun once a year to feel superior lolz

My company gives only 3-4% pay raises. They pretty much rely on people to just be comfortable, stagnant, and to not try to leave for actually getting market value. I recently got a high level certification that renewed my older ones, and the next cert I get will be the penultimate certification of the industry srs. Once I get that cert I'm going to actively start trying to find another gig, srs. Also my 401k gets vested this week at my company, so less incentive to stick around.

Lol at having to get certs to be marketable. If head hunters aren’t trying to contact you regularly already your job isn’t in high demand.

The billionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours in a day.

^^^Racist police officer who also cries about how racism doesn't exist, also cries reverse racism and typifies the stupidity of the racist right, referring to black people as "they" and regurgitating racist stereotypes.

Let me just clarify that this guy making 240k is US based so not as impressive as making 240 in Mexico.

A guy making 240k in Mexico would be making 13k after taxes/mo and would be equal to a guy making 500k in TX/AZ, mogger

Definitely, i would even go as far as telling u that u are close to a promotion to keep the carrot hanging in front of u

U will literally stay years in a dead end job if played by the right manager
