Has anyone driven or purchased a new Ford Maverick?

Opinions ? I’ve always liked the Honda ridgeline. You get a bed and the comfort of a car with good fuel mileage.

Of course it’s not a on frame truck but that’s not what it is trying to be either. If the prices ever get back to normal I may pick up a maverick. The hybrid one looks pretty good .

A factory order should be MSRP but with the wait for it to be built and delivered

Yeah I was watching donut media and a dealer had one marked up like 30k….. who in their right mind would pay 30k over sticker lol. I don’t care if If I had more money than I know what to do with. At that point the dealer thinks I’m an idiot.

I think they look really cool, especially with a 2" lift and bigger tires (srs)

I'd rather have a full-size truck myself (a nice used F150 with leather interior and a V8, hnnngh) but the Maverick fulfils a certain purpose... assuming you can get one at MSRP. If they truly are ~$25k trucks, and as long as used ~2018 F150s are astronomically priced, a new Maverick makes sense (normally, though, I'd just buy a 5 year used vehicle and always beat the new vehicle financially, but economic times are weird now so it isn't as simple anymore)

They're trickling in dealerships in my area, some are asking over and some aren't. I'm looking for an AWD XL package, myself. Only one I've seen were three hours away and 10k over sticker. L'mao

Damn that actually looks really good. But yeah I’ve still got my 12th gen f150. Works fine for me I don’t need a new vehicle every year. 6.5 bed and 3.73 gears. I’ve also got a small hatchback but I’d replace it with a maverick tbh. No car payment crew is niceee

That’s the trim Id probably go with too. Only thing is I’d watch cruise control rest I don’t care about. Paying 10k over sticker lmao a fool is born everyday. You could really set that thing up nice with 10k on aftermarket things.

Depends what you want. The only advantage is towing and about six inches in bedroom. Ground clearance is negligible and Maverick actually has more headroom and slightly wider in the cab. Wouldn't justify spending $40k on a Ranger.

I think the real beef should be with the rebadging. In a sea of overpriced trucks the Maverick is actually somewhat competitive with mid-size trucks and $15k less. Nothing wrong with that.

I have an XL Hybrid model. bare bones, pre-ordered last July2021 and received last December2021. I was one of the first to own and mod a Maverick. at the price (MSRP, not the marked up ones) you can't beat it- brand new crew cab truck with apple carplay and it's a hybrid getting nearly 35MPG (even with my big all-terrains on it) for under $23K OUT THE DOOR. takes me anywhere i need to go, have taken it up the snowy mountains and through basic mud/dirt trails with my buddies Tacoma and easily kept up with 1/2 of the gas stops. plenty of aftermarket support already (alot of the Bronco Sport stuff fits)

I was interested when I read about it and that it was a more reasonable price. But then disappointed that the bed is so small [about 54" x 54"]. My little hatchback is nearly as wide and with the seats flat may be longer.

Tbh, the Maverick isn't trying to be a F-150 or a Ranger.

The Maverick is literally a new version of the old school Ranger (the new Rangers are the same a Tacoma).


Each model has there purpose. And the Maverick may be a great truck for those who live in the city, or don't need to haul big loads.

Not my style of truxk, but its a great design. Ford's tapping into a good market.
