Dr. Strange in the Multiverse review

I thought this movie was just okay. It was a big CGI fest.

There wasn't really a plot or story to this movie.

There was no character arc.

But I was happy about the Sam Raimi-isms. Sam Raimi is what made this movie for me.

Yeah gave it a 7. Still better than the Batman which I watched last month.

Would enjoy it more if you watched Wandavision.

My fave part was the one against a certain team. lmao.

Yeah it was more of a sequel to WandaVsion than a Doctor Strange sequel.

I gave it a 6/10 and that's only because of a certain cameo.

Spoiler!
I hated the social justice bs in the film though. America is obviously from the comics but damn is she such a woke character. And she actually has a star wipe for a portal. Wtf. Also, the Illuminati all get their asses kicked except for, wait for it, the women. Captain Carter puts up a fight when in reality, she really shouldn't have been able to. And of course Captain Marvel played by the token black girl. What was the deal with her direction? When her teammates are killed by Scarlet Witch, Captain Carter looks distraught and shocked. Captain Marvel's reaction though is annoyance? Jesus. Aside from the Omni-Man sequence, the film was on par with most Marvel films in terms of stakes. Sam Raimi made it interesting though with some of his direction. And loved seeing Professor X.

Agree 100%. Best scene in the movie was at the start at the wedding when he was having some real conversations with real people. But only lasted a few minutes before he flies away to fight a ****ing giant octopus.

Think I'm finally over these movies. Need to go back to more grounded stories like the original Iron Man & Captain America

I enjoyed it but I could understand why the movie seemed to be disorganized.

The first Iron Man is one of the best superhero movies in my opinion.

It's The Hero's Journey. Tony Stark goes through this big character arc.

Christine Everheart calls him a "Merchant of Death" and questions him on his weapons of mass destruction.

He's shown as an irresponsible selfish narcisist.

The cave scene is the turning point.

The one guy asks if he has a family but Tony says no so he responds back with, "So you're who has everything but also nothing." Tony tries ot save him but the guy reveals that it's a good thing for him to die so he can see his family.

Once Tony is back in California he has a big change of heart. Tony switches form weapons to energy.

He makes the Iron Man suit to destroy weapons of mass destruction.

The Batman was too long for its own good, especially for a first movie. And the final 30 mins was boring af. Very anticlimatic. I expect superhero movies to be fan and loud.

I actually agree. Everyone said it was fantastic but I found it boring. Also got a little tired of the depictions of Batman’s rogues gallery. Trying to make them all “realistic” forces then to be very one dimensional (gangsters, serial killers, terrorists.

I love to see Ckayface or Mr Freeze in a Batman movie with the recent asthetic.

I spoiled the Multiverse of Madness for myself and then realized I didn’t care enough about it to go see it. Sounds like lots of wasted potential.

I also think I am done with the MCU. Imo the story was told with the Infinity Saga.

im not really as huge a fan as you'd expect. but was still pretty cool seeing maguire

i guess im just not really interested in the romance and or emotional aspect of the story, which i think this had much more of. thought there was more of that and not much going on

i thought the new batman was better tbh

The musical note battle was cringe

The standing there after running and running and a door closes and isn’t instantly ripped open was dumb

Boosting the mole face chick to some authority figure on multiverses was funny and her bchness saying the movies are 616 when they don’t have any mutant or fantastic four was really dumb of them they had a clear opportunity to retcon things and setup for a universe that is true comic book has everything but decided to in your face fukers yours extended universe Star Wars sht means nothing style and made the mcu movies the true 616

I even think there was an AOC citing in the movie when the octopus was scaling TV e office building I was weirded out by why did they zoom on the Hispanic looking AOC lookalike

Seeing that ugly monkey James bind chick was sucky and seeing hailey atwell looking plain as fuk in that hero outfit…..she didn’t look taller or buffer or even the dumb what if version where her big teddies became her shoulders….just a bad cosplay chick who doesn’t show off the massive milkers she possesses

The rating matches for me, but I'm a Spiderman fanboy. No way home I'd put as my 4th favorite behind Spiderman 1+2 and Spiderverse.

Marvel movies are past their prime, it's the same **** over and over again boring. I'll give DC credit for at least making more unique movies like Joker and Batman.
