Experience With New Covid Variant? (Tested Positive)
Hey, dudes.
My girl gave me her Covid. She was sick for about 5-6 days with cold symptoms.
I started feeling sick on Wednesday... so about 4 days into it. We didn't even know it was Covid, just assumed it was a cold. I was starting to feel better yesterday afternoon, but this morning I woke up with a little trouble breathing and tons of chest congestion... coughing up dark yellow/orange sh!t. After this I took a test and tested positive. So did she.
Honestly, it has felt like a light cold so far. No fever, minimal body aches, sore throat is barely noticeable, just a lot of congestion and feeling off. It's this new shortness of breath thing that's got me a little worried. Nothing terrible or alarming so far, but noticeable.
I believe I had OG Covid back in late Jan 2020. Never conformed because we didn't have tests yet, but something WICKED swept through the office like nothing I've ever seen in my life. Multiple healthy people from work ended up going to the hospital. I was the sickest I've ever been in my life. 6 days straight of a fever and 2 days straight of 104 temp that landed me in the ER on fluids and oxygen for 12 hours. 02 sat in high 80's.
Anyway, 02 sat looks good (for me) hovering around 97/98 using my at home device. Heart rate is good. Never had a fever this whole time.
Am I gonna make it brahs? Is the shortness of breath normal for even mild cases these days?
For what it's worth, vacc'd and boosted. Yeah, yeah... my job required it and I'm an exec with stock options and profit sharing and stuff... not something to easily walk away from. Plus, I have asthma and an auto immune disorder so it made sense for me.

I hear at the end stages of the disease you pee your balls out through your dink because it attacks your reproductive signaling pathways and basically tricks your balls into thinking they are the c00m, because it breaks down the barriers between the two.

Vaxcels take another L
A young bull and an old bull were standing atop a hill looking at a bunch of heifers in a field below.
The young bull says "Let's run down this hill and fuk one of those heifers."
The old bull replies "No. Let's walk down there, and fuk them all."

When I first put it on it usually reads a little low (even when I'm not sick) around 94-96 (I'm a shallow breather). I will usually leave it on for 1-2 min and focus a little more on deeper breathing and it jumps to 97/98. I don't think I've ever left it on for 5 min though. Maybe 2 min at max.

I wasn't first in line for the Vax and was against it for a while. I weighed my options and determined for someone like me (who became a bloatmaxxer during lockdowns and had a few comorbidities, it made sense). Although, if I kick the bucket from this or end up in the hospital I guess it will dispell some of the efficacy arguments.

Sh!t timing though, because I have asthma and bad allergies so around this time of the year, Covid or not, I'd feel a lot of these symptoms anyway (srs)

I have it now. Tested positive Wednesday. It was two days of fevers and strong aches and pains everywhere. Now I feel better for the most part but still pretty weak, and sleeping a lot.

I get out of breath easily since bloat and alcohol maxxing, that sometimes manifests in rapid and skipping heart beats. That sh!t is scary. I hope you get some answers brah.
Maybe look into a stress test. Inwas having issues and my stress test/ekg/echocardiogram came back clean except for elevated blood pressure. Gave some peace of mind that heart wasn't going to spontaneously combust.

Haven't taken any meds because it hasn't been bad enough for me to do so - but I generally have to be in a lot of discomfort to take meds.
I'm also an alcoholcel so that numbs the discomfort at night.

Wouldn't suggest altering your breathing or anything, just be normal. Sit upright and measure for two minutes.
What do you mean by shortness of breath btw? I had to get an inhaler after my covid went away because my lungs essentially "closed up" since I was resting so much. Your lungs don't operate as much during rest. For me, I couldn't take a deep breath without coughing; it was like trying to inhale smoke for the first time. The inhaler fixed that. Post covid though I could only do 6 mins on the spin bike before I was gasping for air, meanwhile pre covid I could do 30 mins no problem.

I'm a shallow breather with asthma so my 02sat is "normalized" around 96. If I leave it on for a couple minutes it usually goes up to 97/98 but that's because I see it being low(er) and naturally breath deeper.
I guess is should 5 min of normal breathing and take an average. Might be good to know.
By shortness of breath I mostly mean congested sinuses and thick gloopy phlegm blocking the breathing so it's hard to get a nice full breath. I breathe ok, but sometimes I need to be intentional about grabbing a a deep breath (or a forced yawn) to get the air I need.
I know what REAL SOB looks like (asthma and watched my mom die of suffocating from lung cancer) and I'm nowhere near that level. Just noticeable need to grab an extra deep breath here and there.
When I had OG Covid back in 2020 I could barely walk 20 feet without getting winded.... so far - not nearly as bad this time.

Sadly, I went through a period of losing key family members and had to suddenly handle everything and do everything and alcohol helped me cope.
Not ideal.
I'm in no way advocating for alcohol to be a helpful tool to combat anything. It's the worst thing that ever happened to me. It's literally the definition of a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Was wondering because azelastin/flonase is a steroid but one you spray in your nose, I never started it I really need to. Read weight gain as a side effect I don't know how accurate that is

I felt weird the first day. The second day I had 3 hours of fever, but by the end of the day I felt pretty normal. Day 3 developed a bad sore throat that lingered for several days. Never had any sinus or congestion issues.
Most annoying part was I still tested positive at day 10.
