Antidepressants And Social Anxiety

Has anyone here ever tried antidepressants for social anxiety? What were your experiences like with it?

Don't. Quit caffeine completely. Just go out and deal with it. There's no magic pill for it. Start working on your own mind and thinking patterns. The more experience you get out the better you can deal with it. I don't have anxiety or anything, but it seems like everyone I know does. These are some of the things that have worked for the one's that deal with it. One girl I know literally didn't work a job from 25-27 because of anxiety and social anxiety, and now has a job, friends, and goes out all the time. If this chick can do it without pills then you'll be okay OP.

What did she do and how long did it take for her to overcome her social anxiety?

Here's the next school shooter.

Everybody has 'social anxiety'

It's called 'being nervous' and it's normal.

You ****ing idiots and wanting to take drugs for everything are the cause of mental illness in this country because everybody is pumped to their eyeballs full of hormone changing drugs.

fix your diet and lift. do some cardio - get out and walk. lose weight, build muscle, get lean. looksmaxxxx. increase your income and net worth. improve your standard of living. and the rest will follow.

you don't need a magic pill to feel better. don't treat the symptom treat the disease.

i remember you bitching many months ago and you said you were going to stop being gluttonous and lazy. you promised you would work hard and change. looks like you never did. shame.

I don't know exactly. I know she tried pills, stopped them immediately, stayed home for 2 years afraid to go out, and then changed her life around. I think she went to a therapist. That was it really though. Her dad died many years ago and it's just her and her mom (who is in kind of rough health herself).

Her mom says she still has anxiety, obviously, but just realized to live life despite feeling anxiety. Lot of mental work. She's not the most attractive either, yet she's out there making friends and having some fun finally.

Just have to go out a lot and do stuff and get comfortable with being in social situations that are uncomfortable for you.

You are better off getting a book about Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and reading it.

You don't meet many 50 year olds with social anxiety.

Why, because by that age you are used to people and not scared of much due to life experience.

Social anxiety is just second guessing yourself and worry about doing things "perfectly" and all of that nonsense. It does not need medication.

What helps is putting reality into perspective and trying through repetition to talk to and so on. You ABSOLUTELY will get through it and you do not need meds to do so.
