I'm not from Texas, I just spent 3 weeks driving around the state. I was wondering what people thought about the state's largest cities.

Austin.

Tons of mountain biking trails. You can go rowing, kayaking or stand up paddleboard downtown at any time. You are 30 minutes from lake Travis for boating. Hippie hollow is a nude beach.

Just really a lot of stuff to do.

I'm not in my 20s but the women are pretty and the clubs are fun. I haven't been downtown for clubbing in a long time.

Business opportunities everywhere and great for networking.

all major cities are the bad in texas. but austin is probably the most insufferable because of the libs and them defunding the police so now they have extremely high crime. but all crime in texas major cities went up after corona because everyone moved here. austin is the only one i know of who defunded the police by 50% though.

Always wondered why people visited but a ton do lol
The river walk is pretty cool. I went for the first time in December of 2020 and had one of the guys piloting those tourist pontoons yell at me for not wearing a mask outside lol

Other than that, it was nice.

The landscape around there is probably the nicest out of the big Texas cities, sans El Paso maybe, but I know a lot of people don't like the desert.

Being able to own a spot in the hill country outside of SA would be legit but unfortunately the libs moving here fukked our real estate market royally.
And the desert is what’s up man. Big Bend NP is one of my happy places, I actually proposed to my wife there

Nice. I love the southwest. I spent a week in El Paso and west Texas recently and it's really underrated imo.

Yeah the hill country is really nice, it's a shame about the real estate down there.

Agreed. I could live in west Texas but if I’m staying in Texas I’m staying with the city as my job is cake and the retirement is solid.

I've wanted to visit Big Bend for a long time. Somehow never made it. I understand spring is the nicest [more green stuff/less heat].

It’s 100% worth the trip srs.
My first time there changed my life. Really helped put things in perspective camping in the middle of nowhere in such a huge park.

I'm partial to smaller towns op. I would pick San Antonio for a bigger city or Galveston as a smaller place. Houston,Dallas, and Austin I could live without. Mainly the weather and joggers everywhere.
