im new to watches but apparently tag heuer is not liked well by watch people. something to do with the quality not matching the price point and the company lying in the past about certain watch specifications/parts.
personally, i actually like how the carrera and the acquaracer look. if you gonna buy tag, id suggest buying on the used market for sure, be careful though as they are very often faked.

but watch snobs hate it as it's seen as the entry level luxury watch brand
it won't hold it's value so for 5k you can get a very good omega that you could sell in 10 years and depending on the condition get (nearly) all your money back depending on model

A vintage Heuer is. Should be able to find one that fits your budget. I'm partial to the Camaro model.
