What's the consensus on all the chemical packed sugar free stuff for our health?

Several coworkers are on diets and have been showing me on all the zero calorie energy drinks, no sugar added snacks etc. that they're consuming.

I've tried some of the stuff and it's CRAZY to me that something like this can taste like a cam full of melted swedish fish while being sugarfree.

1) all the scientific wizardry behind this stuff is amazing, but is any of it safe? I know about FDA approval but don't you think in 20 years they're going to be all "whoopsie poopsie, that stuff is carcinogenic as fukk, lol"

2) there's a whole lot of ground between "less bad for you" and optimal nutrition. Some people get this stuff and think they can consume as much as they want because it's "healthy". I tend to just indulge in moderation, rather than settle for inferior cheats just so I can have more of them.

Its complete chit... might work but it will give you cancer in 30 years im sure. I'd rather use stuff that i know what the effects are. For instance...vaping. I know my grandpa smoked until his late 80's. Most people live to at least 60+ even smoking... there is a track record. People have no idea what the vape chit does to you. Same with sugar...use in moderation and its ok. Drink 3 lbs of it a day, hello diabetes. Who knows what kind of tumor that synthetic stuff will grow in you.

Im 1000% certain of this srs

Cancer or other illnesses, its 100% chit that is horrible for our bodies. The globalists are poisoning us anyway they can, makes all the sense in the world to label this synthetic chit "safe and healthy" srs.

I can't stand fake sugars and can always taste them. I agree with those who have said they're not good for you. In moderation like a couple diet sodas once a week would be fine I'm sure, but people guzzle that crap down like it's water.

Never trusted any of that chit and I've always doubted that there is any health benefits to it. X2 on what Jms89 is saying.

I don't trust it but I do fall prey to degenergy drinks from time to time. Other SF snacks, not so much.

I don't think its good for you but it's not as bad as sugar and certainly not as bad as cigarettes. Both of my grandparents who smoked ended up dying from it a lot younger than they would have otherwise. These weren't bedridden 80 year olds who would've died anyway. Everyone that swaps from regular drinks to diet drinks loses weight and fatness is the number one killer here. It's not ideal but if you're gonna drink soft drinks get the sugar free ones
