What's your highlight of today, misc?
I could use some small happiness you had today to recharge my positivity.
Well, who's first?

I woke up - I'm healthy other than this MCL/miniscus sprain I am dealing with.
My coffee tasted great. My morning constitutional was a two wiper - that's a win. My commute was beautiful. It's reconciliation week at work - the week that drives me crazy but if that is the only bad aspect of this job, then I can easily deal with that despite the anxiety it causes.

Two things:
#1 Read some really cool papers on complexity and self-organization theory WRT to emergence of life. Is life an accident? No, it's a natural tendency of the way the universe complexifies and self-organizes. Life ismeantto happen, and there are laws of nature beyond physics.
#2 I watched an Instagram video of a guy who set up a fan at the end of his bed, and enclosed himself within it with sheets to keep cool. His dog was sitting outside his makeshift tent and farted into the fan (Dutch Oven'd him) and he kicked off the sheets and gagged. It made me laugh very muchly.

The 'high light' of my day is the sun.
Because it's a light which is high in the sky?

Driving 1.5 hours round trip to a physical therapy session for my ankle just to do sht I could do at home and waste a total of about 3 hours of my day. Need to do it though or workmans comp wouldn't cover me if it doesn't heal right or gets injured again in the future... at least they pay me well for the mileage.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.

Hearing my daughter say duck. Well, she actually says dak, but I know what she means.
She isn't quite one, so she can waddle around and say a handful of words, which went up by one today.
We have a lake in the grounds, with ducks in it and she is fascinated by them.

Screw nature; my body will do what I DAMN WELL tell it to do!
The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.
They had the technology to rebuild me. They made me better, stronger, faster......

I'm giving a female friend/potential love interest the straight dope about why she should eat a good diet and lose weight.
She's probably not going to listen but I want to tell her the truth. I know it would change her life if she would follow what I say.

Took my son to the park. Took this shot on a bridge that spans a creek that bisects my subdivision. On the other end is the park.
The closer we approach the uncertainty of life's ending the more we wish to trade all of the things we have acquired in exchange for all of the things we have lost: wealth for youth, knowledge for fresh curiosity, resignation for hope. We'd trade our wisdom for new experiences, but it is wisdom that will teach us that at the end of the road the only new experience is death.

One of my sons and I did pull-ups and chin-ups in the garage today. His first time using the assistance bands I bought for him.
Also, he got on a ladder for me and helped me pull a branch down that was just hanging from a tree after a storm rolled through last night. He is taller than me so even on the ladder I couldn't reach it without him.
(He's my autistic son so working out and him even helping me with anything is extra special)
