OP works in technology at a euro bulge bracket bank in London, UK.
OP wants to change to Tech Product Management and has been trying to do so internally. Bureaucratic subhumans are like:
"Oh you are a software dev, you need business skills for Product Management" -> lmfao, "business skills"
"You are in Fixed Income Technology so you can't come along in FX or Equities" -> when the role is tech-based this matters so much less compared to an actual sales/trader.
Meanwhile one of the 3 top USA-based BBs gave op a chance to change, with promotion as well.
Can't wait to see if I can leverage this into possibly moving to the USA internally.
Euro/British run institutions full of bureaucracy whereas Directors in a remote interview from the USA immediately understood the situation and agreed with me.
