You can't go wrong making content for little kids (ex. cartoons, music, songs, toys etc). I've seen some of the chittiest children's videos made with ms paint that still get millions of views.

Have kicked this around myself brah. Here are some things I came up with:

Hot sauce reaction/rating channel(was going to do with a friend, who can handle an insane amount of heat. I can barely handle any)

Bedtime stories for adults

Creating 10-20 minute shorts about the in-game stories of classic video games, with a combination of history and reenactments.

Whatever is trending. Some guy I used to watch, recently started posting courtroom vids about the Johnny Depp / Amber Heard trial and started getting millions of views per video. He started that channel in 2019 and I think had under 5k subs before it blew up. All he did was take the biggest topic and put a few really short vids up about it, he's not even on the vids talking, it's just (a little bit of) footage about the trial.

The biggest stuff is probably all the stuff aimed at kids and adolescents. For example look at "How Ridiculous" but, at least they have been going for a very long time (and are just about tolerable, despite it being really cheesy, PG rated etc).

Tips:
- Cover the hottest topics.
- Dodge YouTube censorship. Just look at what got others censored (gun rights, covid chit, etc).
- Never use a curse word.
- Make it annoying and cheesy for adults, but kids (or teenagers) can't stop watching it.

Most stuff that's gone viral, you'd have no idea it would and there's no reason why "that" video did when so many others like it didn't. It has a randomness about it which you can't plan for. You can only get anywhere if YouTube start promoting you and that again is a totally random thing.

youTube requires 1000 subscribers and 4000 hours of video in order to be monetized.

It'll take away making 10-20 minute long videos.

One that I noticed that is very easy and gets a lot of views is pictures of tiny houses. They are not as popular as they were a couple years ago but someone just grabs pictures of tiny houses online and makes a video out of them with music. They get hundreds of thousands of views with virtually no work.

Brb creating slide show with paint and sony vegas and uploading for that YouTube money.

A couple of people have suggested using click bait thumbnails. If you do that make sure the actual content of the video can retain viewers. YT takes audience retention into account when deciding which videos to promote. It's not like in the old days when you could just put a hot girl on the thumbnail and get hundreds of thousands, if not millions of views.

As for niches. I suppose a low effort one would be ASMR videos. There are some dudes that do well in that category of videos but it's dominated by females, and the ones who do well usually sexualise their videos in some way. There's one channel where the videos have the camera focused on the sloots nice plump titties the whole time! Lol.
