Morning boyos. Just wanted to aware y'all about a career field with booming demand for those who are are interested in the medical field, physician assistant. Need a four year undergrad degree, preferably one in the sciences, plus two years of PA school.

With the US facing a physician shortage in the near future PAs, and their counterparts Nurse Practitioners, are getting more and more autonomy and demanding more and more money.

Real life example, this kid I know 25 just graduated and has received multiple job offers within two weeks of graduating. These have come from places where he worked rotations as part of the PA program. The offers have ranged from $110k - $125k. Now you're not going to be CEO'ing $10k per day as a PA, but you'll have job security, the flexibility to work anywhere in the country you want, a salary that will just continue to increase, a wide range of specialties (surgery, family medicine, ICU, Hospitalist, ED, etc), and huge demand for the foreseeable future.

I'm in corporate finance and I don't even want to post how long it took me to earn $125k, inflation adjusted or not.

If I was young again and smart enough to handle the math I'd give serious consideration to this route versus say engineering or computer science. Not saying those jobs aren't great, they are, just I'd put this field up there with them (except coders I guess since I believe they have a higher ceiling).

I’m an anesthesiologist assistant and I make 2x what PAs make and I’m 100% serious. My base pay is $100 an hour and OT rate is $150 an hr. 6 weeks paid vacation which increases 1 day per year and maxes out at 8 weeks PTO at 10 years here, 7% 401k match, amazing benefits. $55k sign on bonus for a 2 year commitment. I also get all major holidays off, no nights, no weekends, and I can work either 4 10s or 3 13s. If I come in on my off day I am guaranteed 8 hours of OT and I’m the first one out so I usually don’t even work 8 hours. Further, I go home early 3 days a week so I probably only work 35 hours a week but am still paid for 40. PA is a **** job in comparison and every single PA I have ever met said they wish they knew about AA school before they went to PA school lmao. My school was 28 months long. Also my recruitment bonus for getting other AAs to sign at this hospital is $25k per person I recruit and I’ve recruited 3 so far so I made $75k to literally post in the AA discord twice. 100% serious I literally have the best job in the ****ing world. The worst part of my job is that it’s stressful bc it’s life and death and the fact that I have to wake up at 5:45 am every day I work but I ****ing love this **** and I literally save lives nearly every single day at work so the reward is ****ing amazing. 75% of the time I’m literally getting paid to sit on my phone and text all of the girls I’m dating lmao. Other coworkers play video games on their iPads or read or surf the internet. I can do whatever the **** I want once the patient is asleep.


Also I can literally find a new job in literally .1 seconds because there’s a massive demand for anesthesia providers. I had 6 job offers when I graduated without even trying. Traveling AAs and CRNAs make $180 to $200 an hr so basicaly $400k+ a year if you’re down to travel srs.

Nobody wants to join the medical field because it's awful now.

Forced hours
Hospital telling you when you can/cant take days off
Hospital telling you that you're only allowed to talk to a patient for 5 minutes
Having zero life outside of work
80+ hour weeks



Programming is a much better field. You can even do it remotely and live in a place like Columbia banging HBB's.

Id require at least 350 per hour if they require covid "vaccines" and Ill be using a religious exemption as well.

Agree that AA and CRNA is a step up. That field is super competitive though and requires a bunch of years experience in an ICU setting, yes?

Also, there are only so many ORs in the country, eventually supply may catch up with demand. PAs have 10x or more the potential opportunities given the access to all specialties they can work in. Again, great gig if you can get it but PAs will close the salary gap over the next couple decades.

The west should eat themselves to death, especially the backwards leftards that say fat is healthy, etc. That includes you, I think of you people as clumps of walking fertilizer. Technically I am correct. But I wish you to know how I feel about the subject. Hopefully your type can change and look in the mirror for once and understand the damage you are causing to our once great society. can confirm all of these. I guess it depends on the country. It varies massively depending on where in the world you reside. A nurse in US makes 100k while in Philippines makes 1k. Or Italy/UK makes 30k. Some places have only technicians in surgery while others have only nurses. Some countries only allow doctors to do anesthesia.

What about medical equipment sales? I've heard crazy numbers there as well. Brb sell top of the line MRI machines to hospitals, 500k bonus per year

Medical sales definitely can make bank. Don't know about $500k bonus per year, but I guess it's possible.

But then you have to be a salesman which ain't for everyone.

Yeah AA is super competitive now and so is CRNA. My AA school had a 3% acceptance rate (srs). 1,000 applicants for 30 spots. Most people that get into AA school have prior medical experience but it doesn’t require ICU experience that CRNA school does so there’s that benefit. AA school requires premed curriculum like PA school instead of the nursing school curriculum which is much easier. The only benefit to PAs imo is that you can switch fields to different types of specialties but I don’t think most people would because each specialty is completely different and you’ll have to relearn everything and that’s super stressful with people’s lives in your hands. I think they tend to stick to one or two specialties at most.


Agree that a lot of medical jobs suck due to forced call etc but there’s also tons of jobs that you don’t take call at like outpatient surgery centers for instance for anesthesia or you can do stuff like family medicine if you’re a PA. I think the medical field >>>> programming unless you’re literally the top 1% of programmers who can work at google or another FAANG company but I’ve heard they work you to death.

I work with medical device salespeople that sell implants and stuff for Ortho surgery etc. They work 60-70 hrs a week and get up at 4 am every day to get **** ready for surgery so it’s a horrible lifestyle and they prob only make $100k on average. The best job in medical sales is the Davinci robot rep they start at $180k and barely do any work lmao srs.

Medical industry is kind of sketch....

For all the additional money society has allocated toward healthcare in the last 30 years, we sure aren't getting healthier.

Where are these unlimited numbers of PA/medical professionals/high skilled people coming from? PA schools are super competitive and while more are opening, there are still not very many, much like medical school. Boomer docs will continue to retire and there aren't enough young docs to take their place. If PAs/nurses, etc don't have job security there ain't no such thing boyo.
