6.5 years of college, graduate with B.s in CS, get a fully remote job for 70k

Now I just moved out from my moms apartment to my dads moldy unfinished basement because of Joe Biden I wish I was born in 1930 this country sucks so bad

Why 6.5 years to graduate? Did you take classes during the summer terms at least?

Know the feel. Graduated in 2017. First gig was a $60k/yr salary job with like zero benefits and had to go to the office every day.

Fast forward to today 2022, I got an offer for a fully remote job paying $125k, all the benefits including an annual bonus.

Regardless of the age/year, the first one or two jobs will pay like ****. Wait until you're at least a few years deeper to get what you think you should.

At least your job is fully remote.

EDIT: Should've mentioned I have a BS in Comp Sci, but went into cybersecurity after.

Good deal OP. With a 70k a year remote job you can move to SE Asia or South America and live like a king.

Once you get 2+ years of experience you can easily find a job paying $100k/yr.

First job out of college is the hardest. You have the degree and after some experience it will be smooth sailing.

I assume job is like software dev, what language will you be using?

technically u cant because of payroll taxes issues, u need to stay in America otherwise his employer is in the hook for whatever country he picks

I screwed up bad in high school and had to start at algebra 1 in community college lol and thank you for sharing I honestly thought 70k was decent prior to the mess we are in now I would’ve been able to save for two months and gotten enough for a down payment a little north of where I live.

Python it’s more data warehousing at the time but my job depends on they client I am working with as I work at a tech consultancy which is a kind of a good thing as I will work with a lot of different technologies for the resume

It's your first job boss.

It'll be ****, but your second and third will be much better.

Just remember that company loyalty means nothing. If you get another opportunity, go for it. It's nothing personal, just the way it is in the current job market.
