Why are there only microchip shortages for cars and the PS5?

Pretty much every electronic device out there has a computer chip from mobile phones to Smart TVs to home appliances such as microwaves and dishwashers, yet all are readily available.

Are there special chips for cars and the PS5 that are made differently than other electronic devices?

Or is it all a lie and more likely they lack the manpower to maintain operations to keep up with demand?

"shortages" are the only way for Sony to keep the PS5 hype up. If anyone could get one then everyone would know how gimmicky it actually is with no real games to play.
