Ex-Aryan Brotherhood leader who spent 45 years in California prisons (PODCAST)

Michael Lynne Thompson was born October 2, 1951, in Bakersfield, California. A former football star and rodeo rider, he was convicted for the murder of two drug dealers in 1973 and was given a 7-years-to-life sentence. He is known for being the highest-ranking leader of the Aryan Brotherhood to defect from the AB (Thompson fell out with other senior gang members over the issue of taking revenge on the families of gangsters who were seen as having betrayed the AB code). Since his defection, he has testified at numerous trials and assisted law enforcement in combating prison gangs and violence.
