Are people more hostile now than say..7 years ago?

I've noticed that people are more hostile and seem to have a stick up their xxx compared to a decade ago when misc was more mainstream.

People seem more Redditor like, and competitive in a weird way.

My diagnosis: social media makes people insecure
...uptick in amateur porn making people think they are inadequate for not getting laid...less funny chill forums like misc and more Reddit.

What say you, misc?

Undoubtedly. I remember skating all over Hollywood and people being relatively friendly and approachable half the time. Now a days it's like everyone is absorbed in their own little world, is totally unapproachable, and generally unfriendly.

For real, Gen Z'ers seem to be socially retarded and unable to interact with people IRL. CONSTANTLY absorbed in their little social media bubbles.

Definitely.

The soil is very depleted in nutrients due to over farming and pesticides etc, so people are low in magnesium and copper especially. This causes certain personality defects. Nevermind the constant MSM fear propaganda and gaslighting that people subject themselves to.

Very easy to get most people riled up nowadays

Just open with "so, how about those January 6 hearings!" and see how they respond

You're spot on. The competitive bs, especially subtle bs like that from friends, is annoying as fuk and EVERYWHERE

Also if someone doesn't feel they're cool enough and insecure, they'll get even more chitty and act out in some way to compensate. Or avoid you if they feel they can't one up you

Of course. Who wouldn't be on edge now after the summer of 2020? The riots revealed how rotten large parts of American society had become. Not only is there a greater danger of actual violence, but you always have to worry about some person recording you doing something Twitter doesn't like and thus ruining your life.

Yes there's lots of angry/hostile people these days you see it on the road, social media or pretty much anywhere now lots of places just have hostile energy instead of the wholesome/uplifting/constructive energy of pre 2015

If people would disconnect from the MSM and social media apps for a while and get some constructive hobbies they'd probably feel a lot better. Apps like tik tok, twitter, IG and even youtube/FB now are just very toxic platforms.

Zoomers and late millennials are definitely off socially and seem to only care about their social media bubbles. They are the most brainwashed/consumer generation imo. The cutoff seems to be about 30 since people older than that grew up in a time when social media and smart phones weren't as prevalent.

Anyone else think misc not showing up at top of search results have to do with this? I remember searching random stuff on Google as insecure teenager, finding a misc thread about it, and then laughing the matter off because of the funny posts. This easy going attitude definitely spilled over into real life

I wasn't a miscerr then btw.

Yeah I definitely notice how people that age seem to be totally unapproachable. Like even when I am doing something as simple as hiking on a trail, all the people my age or older will wave and say hello or whatever as you walk by, but all the zoomer/late millennial types never wave or say hello, they usually just have some headphones on or something and can't be bothered to acknowledge anything around them.

It's like they honestly seem to be unable to connect to anyone or anything around them, all of their connections revolve around their inner circle and social media.

I think the loss of relaxed social spots like the misc has definitely had an effect on people. Now a days all you see is bullchit from the mega-popular sites like Twitter and Reddit, where it's all toxic as phuck and everyone is competing for clout.

The misc is definitely the type of place that can help you make sense of things, and discuss topics with people who aren't quick to turn hostile in a vain attempt to win an argument for clout.

Yep that whole "my headphones are on I'm in my zone bro" is so fukking lame, and I think it may be 9 some years since I first noticed it being a thing. There was a huge shift at the end of 2015 though. I knew cause me and my bud would cold approach chicks every weekend on campus. We had tons of success, then after summer 2015 it got near impossible

I had a bunch of old friends in town last night(all in their mid 30s), but the crew I party with is all largely in their early or mid 20s right now. I ended up spending about 6 hours yesterday with each group drinking.

It could have been because the 30s crew was 6 hours at the beginning of the night, but I felt so much better after spending time with them than I did at the end of the night with my younger 20 year old friends. The older friends are all offering help, offering to make future plans and do cool things. Inviting me to come stay with them, etc. While the younger friends do some of this, it's mostly everyone being rather selfish and talking about constant nonsense for hours on end and going to bed way too late for absolutely no reason. Girls pulling random dudes off of the street and bringing them over to my house to chill before going back to have sex. Just draining with very little benefit, but it is kinda fun for the Summer.

I'm just cruising around town right now on a Sunday night and people are still acting aggressive I just don't get why so many people are hostile like this nowadays

Is it social media? Obesity? Propaganda?

I mean why are so many people so on edge now and melodramatic now?
