Spend every penny after retirement HSA and kids college savings is maxed crew.

Life’s easy when you have no kids and no rent/mtg. Don’t get used to it.

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."

Been saving $3000+ for the last 4.5 years, I make around 85k a year. No kids no mortgage.

just bought a 55k car in cash and have about 90k left in savings - no idea how to use it, I've lost almost 10k in the last year investing it.

Good job! Keep it up! Build up an emergency fund, contribute to your 401k, Roth IRA, HSA, then save some more to take advantage of opportunities as they come up.

Nothing. I’m pulling out of my savings to pay the bills each month ded fkin srs.

Was able to invest $10k on a $35k/yr salary between Jan 2020 - Fall 2021. Then inflation wiped away my spending power + no raise. Now I’m back to the poverty lifestyle of my early 20s.

Let’s go Brandon.

should dump all that cash into your retirement accounts brah, just throw it into the S&P 500 and don't think about it (srs)

I put about $30k/yr (including company match) into a 401k, $6k/yr into an IRA, and $3600/yr into an HSA, in addition to paying down a 15-year mortgage on a single family home. Any extra cash leftover goes into my brokerage account. Maxing retirement and paying down a home takes up a good chunk of monthly cashflow, but those are some of the lowest hanging fruit as far as saving/investing is concerned IMO - hard to lose on that strategy

I'll find out soon, just got a nice raise and a new job.

TBH take food/drinking/bars out of the picture and it's like the below.

Average monthly take-home-pay with zero overtime: $6800

Rent: $1850 (slight over estimate)
Bills: $300. Internet, Water, Electric, Gas. Haven't had cable in 10 years, srs.
Car insurance: $150
Gas: $75
Subscriptions: $100 (slight over estimate). Netflix/Amazon Prime/Spotify/PSN/Gym.
Cat stuff: $50
Misc crap: $50
Misc supplies/groceries: $400 (probably an over estimate)

So all that adds up to like $3k, leaving me with $3800. But I get food, buy video games, go to bars, etc. But point is if I live on eggs, rice, beans, ramen, I can scrape by $3k+ and I live alone. Plus whatever is going into my 401k too.
