How to allocate $25k in the Market today?.....for Mid to Long Term.

I've got 6-8 months of expenses in saving fund.
Maxing 401K @ 6% with company matching up to 3%.
Maxed IRA for the year already.
Got an Fiduciary Advisor managing a 6 figure account for us that I'm happy with.

I've been saving money on the side for my niece.. who is 3 right now.. College Fund (my sister is not as fortunate as I have been and I'm just looking out for her/them unbeknownst to them) and I've been saving money with the intentions of having a kid. Those 2 accounts total about $25k right now and I'm tired of just having them sit in a chitty savings account with my bank.

How would you diversify these fund in the market today? I don't want to be too conservative, but I also don't want to risk it for the biscuit. I plan on adding between $500-700/month for the next couple years before tapering them down a bit.

I would imagine at some point in the next 2-3 years needing to pull some out for expenses associated with having a kid and maybe some here and there chit, but other than that I want to let it ride.

Thanks and Reps to actual responses.

I just put some money into US Treasury I bonds because I didn't know what else to do with it. I'm kind of a potato but hoping that was a smart move.

VTSAX and chill.

Lmao at anything else. Just buy total market funds and hold long term. You can throw in some total international and total market bonds if you'd like to diversify further.

Also, not to dissuade you OP but if you only are looking at a 2-3 year period maybe stocks aren't the way to go. I agree with the poster above about I bonds. 3 years is a reasonable amount of time.

That is an extremely smart move, don't care what anyone else says. Markets are wild right now so taking a sure fire 6% or whatever they offer is a good strategy.

I'll let all the coincells and other broke peasants give you all the flashy advice and just give you the best advice.

As long as you don't need this money in case of an emergency and your vision is long term, drop it in vanguards total stock market fund (or something very similar) and let it ride. During down times, tax loss harvest.

Srs, vry srs.
