ppl made fun of that google engineer who thought their AI could be sentient

Because he's a fat nerd that cosplays in his private life.

But I heard a long form interview from him the other day, and he sounded fairly down to earth. His concerns seem valid.

Scary that I know nothing is going to be done about it.

Scarier is his contention Google just had the best funded and documented system. There could be other sentient AIs around the world quietly watching... And waiting
