You can follow the economy with investment in mining and the pressure on precious vs base metals.

Everything is superheated and you cant find any men or equipment, but I've seen multiple gold, platinum, and other precious metal mines cancel expansions due to financing and liquidity issues the last 3 months.

Last time I saw projects cancelled in the face all time high commodity prices was 2007. Toilet is getting ready to flush.
