You can't blame them for wanting to leave with all the Red MAGA Hat wearing Trumpers roaming the downtown area in the middle of the night during blizzards just looking for an innocent black boy to throw a noose around...

wow. chicago will be losing a major source of revenue and its already a broke city.
35.9 mi away...they are moving far far away ...basically to where their season ticketholders live...all rich white neighborhoods. Insulated from any chicago residents ever coming close to the stadium...megalulz.
She didn't hold back from taking jabs at the team either.
"Like most Bears fans, we want the organization to focus on putting a winning football team on the field, beating the Packers finally and being relevant past October," Lightfoot said. "Everything else is noise."
Since the Bears announced their intentions to Arlington Park, the city drafted an elongated plan of renovations to persuade the Bears into staying at Soldier Field. The draft was over 50 pages long, including plans of a dome, a monorail, extended parking, etc.
The Bears rejected the ideas two days after the city released them.

Moving from a 67% non-white city to likely an 80%+ white suburb.
How is this not racist?

I don't think ownership will accept much less than a brand new free stadium with complete control.

There are a few reasons:
1. Soldier Field is a PITA to get too, the parking sucks and to get there from the suburbs you have to take the train (get train wrecked on the way in which is always a blast honestly), then cab close enough to the stadium where you usually have to walk another 15 minutes
2. The Chicago Parks service sucks. They own the stadium, not the Bears.
3. The Bears are tired of dealing with the city and see them more as an adversary than an ally.
4. Ownership has wanted a bigger stadium for years and the city refused to help out or cooperate.
5. Value of the franchise will increase by about $1B if they move to the burbs.

It sucks, they should and need to move. Signed a Bears fan for many years.Soldier Field is in an awesome spot right on the lake.

Can't blame businesses and in this case the Chicago Bears for leaving another lawless Democrat run city. I can imagine many fans are hesitant to go to games due to the high crime levels. Safety is one of the most basic services a government is supposed to offer and many Democrats have decided to stop making their cities safe.

Something to understand is that this is a good thing for democrats. They want rich white people out of their communities. Thats why they run their cities into the ground, So the well to do normal people leave.
Once they leave the only ones left will be people who are relying on the govt to live and always vote democrat.
This is not a thing where they have so badly mismanaged things and this is the result. Quite the opposite. It was part of their plan all along.
