DC mayor continues to struggle with bus loads of migrants, mobilizes National Guard

Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is asking the National Guard to mobilize in an effort to deal with the migrants that are being bused to the city from southern states.

The mayor, who has championed accepting migrants entering the country illegally as a human rights issue, requested the DC National Guard be activated indefinitely to assist with what she called a "humanitarian crisis."

Bowser is asking that the DC Armory be used as a processing center and DC National Guard resources be used to help field migrants as they arrive by bus.

A Texas lawmaker responded to Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser after she appeared to complain about the strain newly-arriving migrants are exerting on public services, despite the Democrat's past celebration of D.C. as a sanctuary city.

House Judiciary Committee member Chip Roy told Bowser to "cry me a frickin river" after Fox News host Tucker Carlson played tape of the mayor calling for the deployment of the National Guard to combat the migrant surge in D.C.

Bowser made references to "humanitarian crises," "national response" and an "expect[ed] escalat[ion]" in migrant numbers, while in prior remarks she appeared to blame Texas Gov. Greg Abbott for "tricking" illegal immigrants onto buses that dropped them near Union Station and the Capitol.

If I remember correctly the southern boarder was largely secured 1 and a half years ago under President Trump.

Biden and the Democrats could do the same and secure America's border. I doubt the Democrats want to solve that problem though. An estimated 3 million illegal aliens have crossed into America since Biden came into office.

Having lots of immigrants/ illegal aliens in the country has created chaos in southern states.

What? Trump was trying to keep the border secure.

This is the result of the Biden administration not securing the border whatsoever, and where we have at a minimum a four fold increase in border apprehensions. Keep in mind that's what we're catching, not how many are coming across.

The sad part is the 4000 illegals in DC is only about 2% of the apprehensions (not total crossings, again). It's barely a drop in the bucket compared to what the border states are dealing with. Them getting a taste of their own medicine is poetic justice.

Are you saying that Democrats aren't actually accepting of all? That they didn't, less than a year ago, say they'd welcome all illegal immigrants into their cities?

Sounds pretty racist to ship them around the country for some kind of retribution against Republicans. If anything, they should be sending their own busses to round them up in the border states where they're not wanted, to their super accepting cities.
