How good are you on the ground? As soon as this guy gets you in the right lock (which would be easy for him), it's over...unless you are so big and strong that it negates his skill level, and you can just pick him up and slam him to the ground.

He's one of the best BJJers on earth but has no takedown skills to speak of. Anyone with a wrestling background can stuff his takedowns and as long as you land a few shots to rattle his noggin there's a good chance you'll win. If he starts training takedowns then it's a different game, but there's a reason he said he has no plans for mma.

I've never seen his matches but does he take people down?

There are high level BJJ guys that would get smoked in a fight because their game revolves around butt scooting and inverting which is 100% useless in a fight.

This thread is hilarious. Kid has been doing bjj for over 20 years, and almost exclusively against larger / older / stronger partners. You are an absolute moron if you think a couple years of recreational wrestling or boxing means you can stuff his takedown or think you can dictate how / where a fight with him. He has over a decade of competing at the highest level with incredible results. Like clown world level of ignorance being shown in here.

This kid (who is 26yo) is one of the best grapplers alive. Literally take 99% of black belts, and this kid toys with them like a toddler.

He said he primarily trains with guys his size. He trained with larger guys for a while but it led to lots of injuries.
